Installation and specifications

This lamp is installed with a plug into any standard socket, with no need for construction work or dealing with electrical wiring. The five-metre cable allows it to be placed at points far from the power outlet. To hang it, the included hook is used, which is fixed to the ceiling. Before installing it, it is worth deciding on the height at which the oval shade will sit, especially above tables or worktops.

To clean the metal shade, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately before using the lamp. Do not exceed the indicated maximum power of 15 W.

Design and use

The KOMBO series was born from a joint project between FARO and the Nutcreatives studio, and it shows in the details. The oval shade is not just a randomly chosen shape: it responds to an intention of visual balance between the upper structure, cylindrical and black, and the main body in beige. This colour combination is neutral without being boring, and allows the lamp to adapt to different decorative styles effortlessly.

The metal from which the oval shade is made gives it solidity and a clean feel. It is not a material that ages poorly: with basic maintenance, it retains its appearance for a long time. The upper structure in black steel adds contrast and defines the silhouette of the pendant lamp from above, which is especially noticeable when it is hung in spaces with a lot of natural light.

In a kitchen, this type of lamp works well above the island or the main worktop. The oval shade directs light downwards, improving visibility in the work area without the need to install additional lights. In a dining room, one or several units above the table create a more intimate atmosphere than general ceiling lighting.

In the bedroom, the pendant lamp can replace bedside tables with wall lights, freeing up space and giving the overall look a tidier appearance. In a work or study room, it provides concentrated light without taking up surface area. It also fits well in a living room where a specific zone needs to be defined: the reading corner, the space next to the sofa, or an accent point next to a bookshelf.

The five-metre cable included with this version is one of its most practical features. It allows the pendant lamp to be installed even in rooms where the socket is not directly below the hanging point. There is no need to call an electrician or open the wall. You plug it in, hang it with the included hook, and it is ready to use.

The KOMBO series offers different sizes and finishes, all with the same black structure at the top. This allows several lamps from the family to be combined in the same space while maintaining visual coherence, even if the sizes or shade colours vary. In spaces with high ceilings, they can be hung at different heights to create a staggered lighting effect. In more compact spaces, a single unit may be enough to define a zone.

The geometric design and beige finish make this lamp work well alongside materials such as natural wood, linen, exposed concrete or iron. It also coexists well with more Nordic styles or with modern-line interiors, without feeling forced in either case. It is not a vintage or industrial lamp in the strict sense, although it shares elements with both currents.

This version of the KOMBO lamp comes with a plug and five metres of cable, so it connects directly to any standard socket. It does not require electrical installation or any intervention in the ceiling wiring.

Is the 200 mm diameter of the oval shade sufficient to illuminate a dining or kitchen table?

For a work area or a small table, the 20 cm oval shade provides well-directed light. For larger tables, it can be combined with other units from the same series for uniform lighting.

What type of bulb is compatible with this lamp and is it included in the price?
