Overview

The FARO outdoor wall light is designed for those looking for a lamp that serves a real function without sacrificing aesthetics. It mounts directly on the wall and features directional fins that allow the light beam to be oriented as needed: illuminating an entrance, marking a path, or highlighting an architectural element. It is not just a decorative spotlight or a purely functional luminaire — it combines both in a balanced way.

FARO is a brand with a long history in luminaire design for residential and project use. Their outdoor products are designed to withstand the conditions of daily outdoor use, with materials and finishes selected for that purpose.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the surface is solid and can support the fixing. As this is an outdoor lamp, it is advisable to run the wiring through the interior of the wall or use conduits suitable for outdoor use. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially when working with the main electrical network. Verify that the voltage of your installation is compatible with the indicated range before connecting.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. The transparent glass diffuser can accumulate dust or outdoor dirt; clean it periodically to maintain the quality of the light beam. Do not handle the lamp while the installation is connected to the power supply.

Design and use

This outdoor wall light combines a compact design with an aluminium construction that gives it solidity without adding unnecessary weight. The oxide brown finish gives it a character of its own, close to rustic without being overly ornate. It integrates well into stone, exposed brick or render facades in warm tones, and does not look out of place in more contemporary interiors with natural finishes.

The most distinctive feature of this lamp is its directional fins. They allow you to adjust where the light beam points once the wall light is installed, giving a degree of control that is unusual in surface luminaires. In practice, this means you can decide whether you want the light to fall downward to illuminate a path, be directed at a wall to create a texture effect, or be oriented towards a specific point on the terrace or garden.

The integrated COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that does not distort the natural tones of the surroundings. Unlike cooler lights, this temperature creates a welcoming atmosphere, suitable both for passageways and for corners where a visual point of interest is desired. The 6W power output is sufficient for localised lighting without generating an excessively intense beam.

The transparent glass diffuser lets light through without filtering it excessively, which maintains the efficiency of the LED and allows the beam to reach the desired point clearly. At the same time, the body of the wall light itself protects the light source from sun, rain and direct dirt, contributing to the durability of the unit.

This wall light is particularly well suited to entrances of detached houses, where it marks the access without taking up space. It is also useful on the terrace when you want to separate areas with specific light points rather than general lighting. In the garden, fixed to the wall of a porch or shed, it can serve as a nocturnal visual reference. Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor, it can easily be connected to an external detector or a timer system, as it operates within the standard domestic voltage range.

The reduced weight — less than 600 grams — makes it easy to handle during installation and does not require complex fixing. The compact dimensions, with only 150 mm in height and 50 mm in depth, allow it to be placed in spaces with little lateral clearance without looking out of proportion.

In terms of combining with other elements, this wall light works well alongside a garden post lantern or other surface luminaires on the same wall, creating an ordered sequence of light points. The oxide brown finish brings it visually close to natural materials such as aged wood, wrought iron or dark stone.

Questions and answers

Do the directional fins on the wall light allow the light angle to be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The fins are designed to orient the light beam once the lamp is fixed to the wall, allowing the lighting to be adjusted without needing to remove or relocate the wall light.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The wall light arrives ready to connect, with no need to purchase the LED separately.

Does the oxide brown aluminium finish withstand prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

The aluminium body with oxide brown finish is designed for outdoor use. Exposure to sun and normal weather conditions should not significantly affect the finish if periodic cleaning is carried out with a soft cloth.
