Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installations. It works well at house entrances, facades, covered terraces, and garden access points. Its compact format and white finish make it compatible with surfaces of different styles, from exposed brick walls to smooth, modern surfaces.

The lamp offers direct and indirect light thanks to its recessed light source, which reduces glare and distributes illumination more evenly. It can be directed upward or downward as needed, with two angles of 23°, one in each direction. It can also be mounted vertically or horizontally on the wall.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the lighting industry, with a wide range of indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine technical functionality with careful design, built to last and adapt to different environments.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, make sure the chosen surface is firm and flat. The wiring must reach the wall before fixing the lamp. Always work with the power switched off at the electrical panel. If you have no experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician. Check that the anchors are suitable for the type of wall, whether brick, concrete, or similar.

For maintenance, clean the surface of the wall light with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white aluminum finish. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure they remain secure, especially after periods of rain or wind.

Design and use

The KOV wall light stands out for its cylindrical silhouette and austere profile. The aluminum housing provides durability without adding excessive weight, and the white finish integrates well with both light-colored facades and walls in neutral tones. It is a lamp that does not draw too much attention during the day, but fulfills its function flawlessly when night falls.

The built-in drainage system prevents water from accumulating inside the wall light. This is especially relevant in areas with frequent rainfall or in exposed installations where moisture can be a long-term problem. It is not a minor detail: many outdoor luminaires fail precisely due to water pooling at poorly resolved points.

The included COB LED light source operates at 2700K, a warm color temperature reminiscent of traditional incandescent light. This tone is more pleasant in residential spaces than cool temperatures, and is especially suitable for the entrance of a home or for illuminating garden access at night. LED technology also means reduced consumption compared to other sources, with a power of 2x6W.

The ability to direct the light upward or downward significantly changes the visual result. Directed upward, the wall light will wash the wall and create a softer, more diffuse effect. Directed downward, it will concentrate the light on the floor or the walkway area, which is more functional for marking a path or illuminating an outdoor staircase. The 23° angles in each direction allow adjustment of the beam without the need for additional tools.

As for mounting, the wall light accepts both vertical and horizontal positions. This provides flexibility to adapt to different facade or terrace configurations. In some installations, placing it horizontally can completely change the visual reading of the space. The light source is integrated into the body of the lamp, with no protrusions that break the overall line.

With dimensions of 212 mm in height, 80 mm in diameter, and 87 mm in depth, it is a moderately sized lamp. It fits well on narrow columns, door frames, or walls with limited available space. It takes up no more than necessary and projects light efficiently for its scale.

The KOV wall light pairs well with other luminaires of clean lines and smooth finishes. On a terrace, for example, it can be combined with recessed floor spotlights or garden bollards in the same color range. Consistency between pieces is what gives unity to an outdoor installation without the need for major changes.
