Overview

The FARO KOV wall light is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installation. It works well at house entrances, terraces, patios and façades where functional, well-directed lighting is needed. Its cylindrical shape and white finish fit effortlessly into modern or understated spaces, without drawing too much attention to itself.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to direct the light upward, downward, or in both directions at once. The 23° beam angle concentrates the light precisely, allowing you to illuminate exactly where needed. The COB LED light source is recessed inside, so there is no direct glare when looking at the lamp straight on.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products are distributed internationally and are designed both for interior design projects and for the end user seeking quality without complications.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the surface is solid and can support the weight of the unit. As this is an outdoor luminaire, it is advisable for the wiring to be protected inside the wall or under a suitable conduit. Fixing must be carried out with the appropriate anchoring elements for the type of wall. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to hire an electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminium body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish. Periodically check that there is no moisture accumulated in the connection area and that the fixing elements remain tightly secured.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a body made of aluminium, a material that withstands outdoor exposure well and does not deteriorate with temperature changes. Its narrow cylindrical profile — 80 mm in diameter and 212 mm in height — means it takes up little space on the wall and is not visually intrusive. The finish is matte white, giving it a clean look that pairs well with whitewashed façades, concrete walls or light-coloured cladding.

The lamp uses COB LED technology with a colour temperature of 2700K, which produces a warm light close to classic incandescent light. This type of light is more pleasant for domestic spaces than cool tones, and creates a more welcoming atmosphere on terraces or in gardens after dark. The total power is 2x6W, sufficient to illuminate an entrance or highlight a section of exterior wall.

One of the most practical features of this wall light is its internal drainage system, which prevents water from accumulating inside the luminaire. In climates where it rains frequently, this detail makes a real difference to the product's durability. It is not something visible to the naked eye, but it shows over time.

The light source is recessed, meaning the bulb is not directly visible. This reduces glare when someone walks past or looks towards the lamp. In a garden or on a terrace where people sit or walk, that visual comfort matters.

The wall light can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and the light can be directed upward, downward, or in both orientations simultaneously. This flexibility allows it to be adapted to different uses: if installed next to a door, it can be directed downward to illuminate the entrance; if placed on a patio wall, it can point upward to create a light-washing effect on the surface. In a garden with vegetation or decorative elements, the ability to play with the direction of the beam is very useful.

The design does not include a motion sensor or integrated detector, but it can be combined without issue with timer switches or external automation systems. If the goal is a garden with smart lighting, this wall light fits well as part of a set controlled by a timer or a basic home automation system.

As for façade installation, the compact body makes the work easier. It does not protrude too far from the wall, making it especially suitable for passageways where a bulky wall light could be inconvenient. The white colour also helps prevent heat build-up on façades exposed to a lot of direct sunlight.

Questions and answers

Can this wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The KOV wall light supports installation in both vertical and horizontal positions, allowing it to be adapted to different types of wall mounting depending on the needs of the space.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is already included with the wall light. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional bulb installation.

Does the drainage system work in any mounting orientation?

The drainage system is designed to prevent water from pooling inside the luminaire. To ensure it functions correctly, it is advisable to follow the manufacturer's mounting instructions for the chosen orientation.
