Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces. It fits well at entrances, facades, terraces, and covered access areas where functional, discreet lighting is needed. Its round shape and black finish give it a technical look that does not distort the surroundings.

This wall light offers unidirectional or bidirectional illumination, with the option to direct the light upward, downward, or in both directions at once. The beam angle is 23° in each direction, allowing the light to be concentrated exactly where it is needed. The light source is recessed within the body, so there is no direct glare when passing near the fixture.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor luminaires are designed to withstand real-world conditions: rain, temperature changes, and prolonged sun exposure.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, you need a flush-mounted electrical box on the outer surface or a cable outlet through the wall. The aluminum body is fixed directly to the wall using the included anchors. Before mounting the lamp, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The position can be vertical or horizontal depending on the desired result.

To clean the wall light, simply use a damp cloth without abrasive products. The black aluminum may accumulate dust in areas with a lot of sun or wind, so it is worth checking the surface from time to time. Do not use solvents or abrasive pads that could damage the finish. Periodically check that the built-in drainage system is not blocked, especially after heavy rainfall.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a compact aluminum body with a black finish. The dimensions are modest — 212 mm in height and 80 mm in diameter — making it easy to integrate into walls without taking up too much visual space. The 87 mm depth means the lamp protrudes little from the surface, which is useful in outdoor corridors or access areas with frequent foot traffic.

The design is intended for outdoor use. Aluminum withstands moisture and temperature changes well. In addition, the wall light incorporates an internal drainage system that prevents water from accumulating inside the body, which is especially relevant in areas with frequent rainfall or on north-facing facades where moisture takes longer to dry.

The light source is COB LED type, included with the product. This type of LED concentrates several chips in a small area, allowing a more defined beam. The colour temperature is 2700K, a warm light that integrates well in residential environments. It does not produce the cold or clinical feeling that some more technical outdoor luminaires have.

One of the most practical features of this wall light is the ability to choose the projection angle. It can be configured so that the light shines only upward, only downward, or in both directions. Each beam has an angle of 23°, allowing fairly precise control over where the light falls. This option is useful when you want to highlight a wall texture, illuminate a path, or simply visually mark the entrance to a home.

Regarding installation, the wall light can be mounted in both vertical and horizontal positions. This provides flexibility to adapt it to different wall or facade configurations without losing functionality. On a terrace, for example, placed horizontally on a low wall, it can guide the visual path toward a garden area. Placed vertically above an entrance, it works as a reference focal point that defines the access.

The black finish makes it compatible with contemporary outdoor aesthetics, but also with stone or exposed brick walls where a light-coloured fixture would stand out too much. It does not draw attention during the day, and at night it fulfils its function without creating unnecessary light pollution.

In contexts where other luminaires are already installed, the KOV can be combined without issue with other wall lights from the same line to create more uniform lighting along a facade or courtyard. The consistency of finish and colour temperature facilitates that integration.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. This wall light is designed to be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions, without affecting its operation or light distribution.

How many lighting angles can the KOV lamp be configured with?

The lamp allows two independent angles of 23° each, one directed upward and one downward. Either one or both can be activated at the same time depending on the lighting needs.

Does the wall light's drainage system require specific maintenance?

It is advisable to check that the drainage is not blocked after heavy rainfall or if the wall light is installed in an area prone to dirt accumulation. Under normal conditions it does not require frequent intervention.
