Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for wall mounting. Its compact format and white finish allow it to blend into facades, covered entrances and terrace areas without drawing too much attention. The light it emits can be directed upward, downward or in both directions at once, which gives considerable flexibility when planning how to illuminate an outdoor space.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well: temperature changes, humidity and continuous use. It features an integrated drainage system that prevents water from accumulating inside, which is appreciated in areas where it rains frequently or where the wall light is directly exposed to the elements.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the design of luminaires for residential and professional use. Its products combine functionality with a clear aesthetic approach, considering both how the lamp works and how it fits within the environment where it is installed.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall surface is clean, firm and free of moisture. The fixture is attached directly to the wall using standard screws included. Since it is an outdoor lamp, make sure the wiring is properly protected and that the connection is carried out by a qualified electrician. Always observe the voltage values indicated: 220V-240V.

To clean the surface of the wall light, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium finish. Periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked, especially after periods of heavy rain. Do not replace the light source with one of higher wattage than indicated.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a square, clean silhouette. There are no unnecessary decorative elements: the aluminium body defines its shape, and that is enough. In white, it fits well on both modern facades and walls with a more neutral aesthetic. It is the kind of lamp that does not distract, but does its job well.

The COB LED light source is recessed inside the body, so there is no direct light point visible. This reduces glare and makes visual perception more comfortable, especially in passageways or on terraces where people remain seated. The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, which feels welcoming without being overly yellow.

One of the most interesting decisions in this design is the ability to choose the direction of the light. It can be directed upward only, downward only, or in both directions at the same time. This allows it to be used in different ways depending on the need: to wash a wall with upward light, to illuminate an access path from above, or to create a diffused light effect in both directions. In addition, the wall light can be mounted vertically or horizontally, which allows it to be adapted to different wall configurations.

In a garden, this type of fixture works well when placed at the entrance or along a covered path. On a terrace, it can be installed next to a door or on the side of a pergola. It is also a valid option for illuminating the exterior of a garage or the facade of a house, where functional and durable lighting is sought without resorting to bulky solutions.

The aluminium from which the body is made is lightweight but resistant. It weighs just over one kilogram, which makes it easy to handle during installation. Its size — 212 mm high, 80 mm long and 87 mm deep — makes it discreet on the wall, without protruding too much from the wall plane.

The internal drainage system is a technical detail that makes a difference in day-to-day use. In areas with frequent rain or condensation, any water that may enter has a controlled outlet. This extends the lifespan of the luminaire and prevents moisture problems inside the body.

With a power of 2x6 W, energy consumption is low. It is not a lamp designed to illuminate large surfaces, but to provide focused and well-directed light in residential outdoor settings. It operates at 220V-240V, the standard voltage in Spanish homes, so no additional adapter is required.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be installed both vertically and horizontally on the wall, depending on how you want to direct the light or adapt it to the layout of the space.

Is the COB LED light source included with the wall light or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or look for compatibility with other models.

Does the internal drainage system require any periodic maintenance?

It is advisable to check that the drainage hole is not blocked by dirt or plant debris, especially after heavy rain or in environments with a lot of nearby vegetation. A periodic check is sufficient to keep it in good condition.
