Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be mounted directly on the wall. It works in both vertical and horizontal installations, providing flexibility to adapt it to different situations without being limited to a single position. The light source is recessed into the body, so there is no direct glare: the light is projected where it is needed, without causing visual discomfort.

This wall light offers unidirectional or bidirectional illumination. The beam can be directed upward, downward, or in both directions at once, with angles of 34° and 14°. This variation allows precise control over how the surface or nearby space is lit. The color temperature is 3000K, which corresponds to a warm light, neither too yellow nor too cold.

The body is made of aluminum with a white finish, and the design includes an internal drainage system that prevents water from being retained inside the fixture. For outdoor installations, this detail makes a long-term difference.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in technical and decorative luminaires. Their products are designed to last under real conditions of use, both indoors and in outdoor spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall can support the weight of the body and that the electrical box is correctly positioned. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Verify that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated 220V–240V. If mounted in an exposed outdoor location, make sure the cables are properly protected along the section that reaches the wall.

Clean the surface of the wall light with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the white aluminum finish. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected. Periodically check the condition of the body to detect any accumulation of dirt in the drainage slots.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is designed for outdoor spaces where lighting needs to be functional and discreet at the same time. Its aluminum body with a white finish fits well on clean-lined facades, at residential entrances, in covered outdoor corridors, or on a terrace where directed light is desired without installing a conventional spotlight. It also works well in the garden when placed on a wall or on the side of a covered structure.

The format is compact: 212 mm high, 80 mm long, and 87 mm deep. It does not take up too much space on the wall and does not draw attention through its volume, but through the light it projects. This makes it useful in areas where a large lantern or bulky luminaire would be excessive.

The ability to choose between two beam angles, 34° and 14°, allows you to decide whether you want a more concentrated or a slightly wider light. The narrow 14° angle is useful when you want to highlight a specific plane, such as a stone wall or the outline of a door. The 34° angle spreads the light more and is more appropriate for illuminating passageways. In addition, the wall light supports installation with the beam directed upward or downward, adding another variable when planning the lighting of the space.

The integrated drainage system is a technical aspect that directly influences durability. When it rains, water that comes into contact with the luminaire does not accumulate inside. This design solution reduces the risk of premature deterioration in outdoor areas with frequent rain or humid environments, such as a north-facing terrace or an interior courtyard with poor ventilation.

The included COB LED source operates at 2x6W with a temperature of 3000K. The resulting light is warm, suitable for creating a pleasant atmosphere in outdoor nighttime settings without the visual harshness of cold white light. It is a type of lighting that works well at entrances, in the garden next to a seating area, or on the facade of a house when you want to illuminate without it looking like a surveillance spotlight.

The wall light can be mounted in a vertical or horizontal position. This flexibility allows it to be integrated into different architectural situations without forcing the design. Combined with other luminaires from the same KOV line, it forms a coherent ensemble that provides visual continuity to the flow of light throughout the outdoor space.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be installed horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be mounted both vertically and horizontally on the wall, without affecting its operation or the internal drainage system.

What is the difference between the 14° and 34° angles available on this wall light?

The 14° angle concentrates the beam in a narrower area, suitable for highlighting specific surfaces. The 34° angle distributes the light over a larger area, more appropriate for illuminating passageways or access areas.

Is the COB LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included with the wall light. It does not need to be purchased separately.
