Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for wall mounting. It works well at house entrances, facades, covered terraces, or any outdoor area where controlled and durable lighting is needed. Its compact format and white finish allow it to blend effortlessly into smooth or masonry surfaces.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to direct light upward, downward, or in both directions at once. The two available angles — 34° and 14° — allow you to adjust the light cone depending on the desired effect: grazing along the wall or projected toward the ground. The light source is integrated and flush-mounted, which prevents direct glare.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in luminaires for indoor and outdoor spaces. Their products combine technical criteria with functional design, built to last.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, it is recommended to have a standard recessed box or solid surface capable of supporting the anchoring. Before fixing the lamp, verify that the wall is free of structural moisture. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the connection involves mains voltage. Respect the orientation indicated on the luminaire body itself to ensure the correct operation of the internal drainage system.

The aluminum body requires no special maintenance. Simply clean the surface with a damp cloth and neutral soap, avoiding abrasive products or solvents. Do not direct water jets directly onto the joints or wiring areas. Periodically check the condition of the exterior seal to ensure there is no accumulation of dirt at the anchor points.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a body made of aluminum with a white finish. Aluminum is a common material in outdoor luminaires because it withstands prolonged exposure to the elements well, does not rust easily, and maintains its appearance over time. The white color, in turn, integrates naturally with light-colored facades, whitewashed walls, or modern cladding.

One of the most practical features of this lamp is its internal drainage system. Outdoors, water can accumulate inside a luminaire if it is not well designed, which over time deteriorates the electrical components. KOV features an integrated technical solution that prevents this stagnation, extending the lifespan of the wall light without any intervention required from the user.

The light source is of the COB LED type, flush-mounted in the body of the wall light. This means the light source sits recessed, without protruding, which reduces glare when viewed straight on. The color temperature is 3000K, a warm light that does not distort the colors of the surroundings and is pleasant both in a garden and on a terrace.

Installation can be done vertically or horizontally, with the light oriented upward or downward. This flexibility is useful when the available wall space is limited or when a specific effect is desired: for example, illuminating the ground in front of an entrance door, or highlighting the texture of a facade with grazing light. The angles of 34° and 14° allow this effect to be refined without the need for additional accessories.

In a garden, this type of wall light works well mounted on pillars, dividing walls, or the exterior wall of the house. On a terrace, it can be placed next to a door or window to define the space without requiring a complex installation. On a facade, several wall lights aligned at the same height offer a neat and uniform result.

The design of KOV is austere in the best sense: it has no decorative elements that could accumulate dust or deteriorate in the sun. The absence of a motion sensor or integrated detector makes it a lamp that is switched on manually or controlled from the electrical panel, which simplifies installation and maintenance. For those who prefer a solution without automation, this wall light offers exactly that.

Its contained size — 212 mm high, 80 mm long, and 87 mm deep — means it does not take up too much visual space on the wall. The weight of just over one kilogram allows it to be fixed with standard anchors without additional reinforcement on most surfaces.

Questions and answers

Does this wall light allow the light to be directed both upward and downward simultaneously?

Yes. The KOV model offers unidirectional or bidirectional lighting. It can be configured to emit light only upward, only downward, or in both directions at once, with angles of 34° and 14° respectively.

Does the KOV wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased for it to operate.

Is it possible to mount this wall light in a horizontal position as well as vertical?

Yes. The design of KOV allows it to be installed both vertically and horizontally on the wall, providing more options when adapting it to the available space.
