Overview

The FARO KOV wall light is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces. It is mounted directly on the wall and provides illumination upward, downward, or in both directions at the same time. It is a practical option for those looking for functional lighting on facades, entrances, terraces, or any outdoor area that requires constant and well-distributed illumination.

What sets this wall light apart is its clean geometry and compact body. The light source is recessed, which prevents direct glare and creates a more comfortable visual experience. The 34º illumination angle, both upward and downward, concentrates the light beam precisely without excessive dispersion.

FARO is a brand with a well-established track record in the design of luminaires for indoor and outdoor use. Its products combine technical criteria with an aesthetic that adapts well to different environments, from modern facades to more contained spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall surface is clean, dry, and firm enough to support the weight of the unit. The connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, following local electrical regulations. The installation voltage must match the one indicated in the specifications. Make sure to cut the power before starting any work.

For maintenance of the wall light, clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium finish. Do not direct water jets directly at the lamp. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure the wall light remains securely attached to the wall.

Design and use

The KOV wall light features a cubic, compact shape that integrates effortlessly into facades, access walls, terraces, or garden areas. Its body is made of aluminium with a white finish, a material that combines lightness with resistance to outdoor conditions. The drainage system incorporated into its structure prevents water from accumulating inside, which contributes to greater durability of the unit.

The lamp uses COB LED technology, which concentrates multiple light points in a small area and generates a uniform beam. The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to soft white, which feels welcoming without losing clarity. This is a common light range in passageways, entrances, and terraces where visual comfort at nightfall is desired.

One of the most practical features of this wall spotlight is the ability to direct light upward, downward, or in both directions simultaneously. This allows the wall light to be adapted to different needs depending on the space: if placed at an entrance, the bidirectional illumination enhances the facade and marks the access point; if used on a terrace, it can direct light only downward to illuminate the floor without disturbing the view.

The 34º angle in each direction concentrates the beam without excessive dispersion. This is useful in spaces where a specific area is to be highlighted, such as the access to a door, a section of wall, or a garden path. The recessed light source adds an additional level of visual comfort, as the LED is not directly exposed to the field of vision.

The ability to mount the wall light in both vertical and horizontal positions allows it to be adapted to different architectural configurations. On a facade with little free surface, the horizontal orientation may be more suitable; on a wider wall, the vertical position provides a neater appearance. This flexibility means the wall light works well in projects where installation constraints are not always ideal.

The KOV wall light does not incorporate a motion sensor or presence detector, so the management of switching on depends on the electrical system of the installation. It can be combined without issue with an external motion sensor or a timer, depending on the user's needs. This makes it a neutral element that adapts to different control configurations without depending on a specific technology.

In garden or patio environments, the spotlight can be placed at mid-height to illuminate passageways or visually define different areas. On terraces, installation on the side wall allows for a discreet light distribution that does not compete with other light sources. Its white finish adapts well to both light surfaces and darker walls, providing a clean contrast.
