Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be mounted on a wall, suitable for both private spaces and entrances, facades, or passageways. Its compact format and white finish make it compatible with modern environments and more understated architectural styles, without being an overly eye-catching element.

What sets this wall light apart is the combination of direct and indirect light from a recessed light source. This reduces glare and distributes the illumination more evenly across the surface where it is installed. It also allows the beam to be directed upward, downward, or in both directions simultaneously, with a fixed angle of 14° per outlet.

FARO is a Spanish brand specializing in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Their products combine technical criteria with clean design, intended to integrate into residential and commercial projects without the need for adaptations.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, a junction box in the wall or a prepared cable outlet is required before mounting. The fixture is secured directly to the wall using the included anchors. Since this is an outdoor lamp, it is advisable to ensure the mounting surface is level so that the internal drainage system functions correctly. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified installer, observing the indicated voltage of 220V-240V.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminum body with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. Pressurized water should not be directed directly at the lamp. The LED light source is included and does not require frequent replacement. It is recommended to periodically check the condition of the exterior seal.

Design and use

The KOV wall light is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness and resistance to outdoor conditions. Its white finish maintains a neutral appearance over time and does not visually interfere with most facade claddings. The compact dimensions — 212 mm in height and 80 mm in width — allow this wall light to fit well on both wide walls and tight spaces next to doors or windows.

The lamp incorporates COB LED technology with a color temperature of 3000K, which produces a warm light. This tone is particularly suitable for residential exteriors, as it creates a welcoming atmosphere without the harshness of cool lighting. In addition, the light source is recessed within the body of the wall light, preventing the bulb from being directly visible and reducing the sensation of glare for those passing nearby.

One of the most useful aspects of this model is its installation flexibility. The wall light can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and the direction of the light can be configured upward, downward, or in both directions simultaneously. This allows the lamp to be adapted to different needs: illuminating a facade from below to highlight the texture of the wall, or projecting light toward the ground to mark a path or entrance. On a terrace, for example, the bidirectional option is particularly practical for illuminating both the vertical plane and the ground at the same time.

The integrated drainage system is a relevant technical detail for outdoor use. It prevents rainwater from being retained inside the lamp body, protecting the internal components and extending the lifespan of the wall light. This type of solution is common in luminaires designed for climates where rain is frequent or where there are sharp temperature changes between day and night.

As for its integration into the surroundings, the cubic design and absence of ornamentation make this wall light work well in geometrically laid-out gardens, entrances with smooth finishes, or patios with contemporary furniture. It also integrates well alongside other luminaires from the same line, as the format allows repeated compositions to be created along a facade or an outdoor path without the result feeling cluttered.

The 14° orientation per outlet, while subtle, is sufficient to create an interesting visual effect on textured surfaces or to direct light toward specific points in a garden or patio. This is not a wall light designed to illuminate large areas, but rather to provide precise and controlled ambient lighting in residential outdoor spaces.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions?

Yes. This wall light allows both mounting orientations on a wall, providing flexibility to adapt it to different facade designs or architectural arrangements.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 2x6W COB LED light source. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or carry out any additional installation of the light source.

What is the purpose of the drainage system incorporated in this outdoor wall light?

The drainage system prevents water from becoming trapped inside the wall light body after rain or condensation. This protects the internal components and helps maintain the correct functioning of the lamp over time.
