Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces where clarity without complications is sought. It works well on a terrace, next to the front door, on a facade, or in any outdoor area that needs focused and consistent light. Its compact format takes up no space, and its technical design is built to withstand the conditions typical of outdoor use.

One of the distinctive features of this wall light is the ability to orient it vertically or horizontally depending on how you want to distribute the light. It also allows unidirectional or bidirectional illumination, which gives some flexibility when installing it. The light source is recessed inside, which prevents direct glare and improves visual comfort.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in lighting. Their luminaires combine technical criteria with functional design, and are intended for both domestic use and more demanding projects.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall surface is clean and level. The wiring must be switched off throughout the entire installation process. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. The wall light includes an internal drainage system to prevent water accumulation, which is especially relevant in areas exposed to rain.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish. Periodically check the fixing points to make sure the wall light remains firmly attached to the wall.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has an aluminium body with a white finish that integrates well in modern environments as well as more neutral spaces. Its round shape and reduced dimensions, with a diameter of 80 mm and a height of 108 mm, make it a discreet lamp that does not draw unnecessary attention, yet performs its function with precision.

The included COB LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm colour temperature that creates a pleasant atmosphere without feeling cold or excessively intense. The 34° angle concentrates the beam of light on a specific area, which is useful when you want to highlight an entrance, a door number, a plant, or any architectural detail on the facade. It is not a lamp intended to illuminate large surfaces, but rather to provide light exactly where it is needed.

The ability to mount it vertically or horizontally expands the installation options. On a narrow terrace, for example, it can be positioned so that the beam points downward to illuminate the floor. In a garden or on the exterior of a house, it can be directed to highlight a specific element of the wall or nearby vegetation.

The integrated drainage system is a constructive detail that makes a difference in outdoor wall lights. Water that may come into contact with the luminaire has an outlet, which reduces the risk of moisture accumulating inside the body. This contributes to the durability of the fixture over time, especially in climates where rain is frequent.

This wall light does not include a motion sensor or presence detector, but it can be combined with an external sensor if you want to automate switching. In many cases, homeowners install these luminaires alongside an independent detector so that the lamp only activates when there is movement near the entrance or garden. This reduces consumption and makes better use of the installation.

The weight of 0,64 kg makes it easy to handle during installation. It does not require additional structure or special reinforcement on the wall, which simplifies the process. It operates at 220V–240V, the standard voltage in European homes.

The KOV range by FARO is conceived as an outdoor lighting solution with a clear technical profile: without unnecessary decorative elements, with a construction designed to last, and with sufficient flexibility to adapt to different spaces. It can be installed on the wall of a terrace, next to a garden gate, on the exterior of a garage, or anywhere a reliable, compact wall light is needed.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted both vertically and horizontally?

Yes, the wall light is designed to be installed in both orientations on the wall. This allows the direction of the light beam to be adapted to the needs of each space.

Is the LED lamp included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source comes included with the wall light. No additional bulb needs to be purchased in order to use it from the very first moment.

Does the drainage system protect the wall light in areas with frequent rain?

The design includes an internal drainage system that prevents water from pooling inside the aluminium body. This reduces the risk of accumulated moisture and helps extend the service life of the luminaire in exposed outdoor environments.
