Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor spaces. It is installed on facades, next to entrances, on covered terraces or along perimeter walls. Its square shape and white finish fit well in both contemporary-style buildings and simpler homes where a clean and tidy result is desired.

The design of this lamp solves something that many outdoor wall lights overlook: water accumulation. The body includes a drainage system that prevents moisture from being retained inside. This extends the life of the wall light and reduces maintenance over time.

The light source is set back into the body, which reduces direct glare. The distribution can be unidirectional or bidirectional, and the wall light supports both vertical and horizontal mounting, depending on the requirements of each installation.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor luminaires combine functionality with careful attention to constructive detail.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to cut the power before any electrical work. As this is an outdoor wall light, it is advisable to verify that the surface where it is fixed is level and free of moisture. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially when working on facades exposed to rain or direct sunlight.

To clean the aluminium body, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish should not be used. It is advisable to periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked by dirt or accumulated organic debris.

Design and use

The body of the KOV wall light is made of aluminium, a material that combines strength with low weight. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance that does not visually compete with the surroundings, but integrates into them. This understated quality is an advantage on facades where the lamp must fulfil its function without drawing attention during the day.

The compact size, with a height of 108 mm and a length of 80 mm, makes this wall light easy to place without taking up too much space on the wall. It weighs less than one kilogram, which simplifies fixing to walls of different materials.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to yellowish white. This tone works well at home entrances, gardens and terraces because it does not create a cold or industrial feel. The 23° angle concentrates the light beam, allowing specific areas to be illuminated without wasting light to the sides. It is useful when you want to highlight a door, an outdoor staircase or a section of wall.

The ability to direct the emission in a unidirectional or bidirectional manner expands the usage options. At some points in a garden it is useful to project light only downward or in a specific direction. In others, such as corridors or accesses flanked by walls, distribution in two directions provides better coverage.

The wall light supports vertical and horizontal mounting. This flexibility allows it to be adapted to different situations without changing the product. The same reference can be placed vertically next to a door or horizontally above a large window, with the same visual and lighting result.

The integrated drainage system is a technical detail that has a practical impact. In climates with frequent rain or in areas where the fixture is exposed for months to sun and water, moisture accumulation is a common problem in wall luminaires. This wall light resolves it through design, without the need for additional intervention.

The COB LED light source is included. There is no need to purchase anything else to get it running. LED technology reduces consumption compared to other light sources and extends the useful life of the lamp. With a maximum power of 6W, consumption is moderate for continuous outdoor use.

The KOV wall light fits in residential environments, but also at commercial entrances, hospitality terraces or communal spaces. Its simple geometric shape is not associated with a specific style, which makes it easy to combine with different types of facade cladding, whether concrete, exposed brick or render.
