Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for those seeking precise and discreet lighting in open-air spaces. It mounts directly onto the wall and directs light in a controlled manner, without unnecessary dispersion. It is a suitable solution for entrances, facades, covered terraces, or any outdoor area where a stable and well-directed light source is needed.

What sets this wall light apart is its compact and technical design. The light source is recessed into the body, which prevents direct glare and ensures greater visual comfort. Depending on how it is mounted, it can project light in one or two directions, providing flexibility when illuminating different planes of a wall or an architectural surface.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in the design and manufacture of luminaires. Their products combine functionality and aesthetic judgment, and are designed for both architectural projects and everyday domestic use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall surface is clean, dry, and level. The lamp connects to the standard domestic electrical network of 220V–240V, so it is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. The wall light can be mounted vertically or horizontally according to lighting needs. Since it includes an internal drainage system, it is important not to obstruct the water outlet holes during installation.

To clean the aluminum body, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. Do not direct water jets directly onto the luminaire. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure they remain secure, especially after periods of heavy rain or wind.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a square profile and a matte black finish that integrates easily into contemporary facades, stone walls, or dark claddings. Its body is made of aluminum, a material that offers good resistance to temperature changes and the wear that comes with continuous outdoor exposure. It does not accumulate excessive heat and maintains its shape without deforming over time.

One of the most practical features of this lamp is its internal drainage system. When it rains, any water that may penetrate finds a controlled outlet, preventing it from accumulating inside the body and compromising the operation of the fixture. This detail, although not always visible, makes a difference in climates where rain is frequent or in exposed areas such as an uncovered terrace or the north-facing side of a house.

The integrated COB LED light source emits at 3000K, a warm tone reminiscent of late afternoon sunlight without being excessively yellow. This type of light promotes visibility without altering the atmosphere of a garden or an entrance. The 23° beam angle concentrates the beam, making this wall light a suitable option when you want to highlight a specific element: a door, a panel, a wall texture.

The ability to direct light in a unidirectional or bidirectional manner adds versatility to the design. When mounted vertically, the wall light can illuminate upward and downward simultaneously, creating an outline effect around the installation point. In the horizontal position, the distribution changes and adapts better to longitudinal surfaces such as a fence or the edge of a terrace.

The lamp's compact size, at just 108 mm in height, allows it to be installed in spaces where a more bulky luminaire would appear disproportionate. It works well in pairs or in series along an outdoor path, such as the approaches to a garden or the sides of an outdoor staircase. It can also be combined with other wall lights from the same range to create a coherent perimeter lighting scheme.

In terms of aesthetic integration, the black aluminum body pairs well with dark window frames, metal joinery, and treated wood claddings. It does not clash on facades with an industrial finish, nor in more natural settings where the contrast between dark metal and stone or wood adds character without discord.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted both vertically and horizontally?

Yes. The design of this lamp allows it to be installed in both orientations. Depending on how it is positioned, the light distribution changes, allowing the wall light to be adapted to different lighting needs on the wall.

Does the wall light's drainage system require any specific maintenance?

It does not require special maintenance, but during installation it is advisable to ensure that the drainage holes are not obstructed by the mounting bracket or by construction material residue. An occasional visual inspection is sufficient.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included in the wall light. It is a 6W COB LED integrated into the body, with a color temperature of 3000K, ready to use from the moment of installation.
