Overview

This wall light is designed for outdoor spaces such as terraces, gardens, or façades. It mounts directly onto the wall and provides continuous, uniform light thanks to its opal polycarbonate diffuser. It is a lamp designed for those looking for something functional, with a clean, contemporary profile that blends naturally into its surroundings.

The body of the wall light is made from polycarbonate, a material that holds up well against temperature changes and typical outdoor conditions. The matte white finish makes it easy to integrate into different types of façades. It does not accumulate visual clutter or draw unnecessary attention: it simply does its job.

The design is by Estudi Ribaudi, a design studio with a long history linked to the FARO brand. The lamp is part of FARO's outdoor lighting range, a manufacturer based in Spain that has been developing lighting solutions for the home and outdoor environments for decades.

Installation and specifications

Installing this wall light requires a power outlet in the wall or wiring embedded at the mounting point. It is mounted directly onto a vertical surface. Since it is an outdoor lamp, it is advisable to verify that the wiring is protected and suitable for outdoor use before proceeding. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. It is recommended to use a bulb of up to 15 W with an E27 base.

Maintaining the wall light simply requires wiping the surface with a slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the polycarbonate finish should not be used. Before any cleaning or handling, always disconnect the light from the power supply. The opal diffuser can be cleaned in the same way, without applying excessive pressure to the surface.

Design and use

The FARO wall light is an outdoor lamp with a compact profile and a discreet visual presence. Its dimensions — 315 mm long, 135 mm high, and just 70 mm deep — allow it to be installed in spaces where a bulky luminaire is not desired. It weighs less than half a kilogram, which makes mounting easy even on walls with lightweight cladding.

The polycarbonate body is impact-resistant and maintains its properties under outdoor conditions, where exposure to sun and rain is common. It does not rust, does not warp, and requires no special maintenance beyond periodic cleaning. The matte white finish remains stable over time and does not yellow as can happen with lower-quality plastics.

The opal diffuser serves a specific purpose: distributing light evenly, without creating hot spots or areas of pronounced shadow. The light produced by this lamp is soft and covers the area uniformly. It is particularly useful at entrances, outdoor corridors, garden walls, or terrace areas where functional lighting is needed without dramatic effects.

The light source is E27 LED, a standard base that makes it easy to find the right bulb at any store. Compatibility with voltages between 100V and 240V means the light works without adapters in different electrical systems. The maximum permitted power is 15 W, sufficient to illuminate an entrance or a stretch of exterior wall with ease.

In terms of design, the line of the wall light is contemporary but not aggressive. It integrates well into both modern façades and more neutral environments. It does not include a motion sensor or presence detector, but it can be installed alongside an external sensor if that functionality is desired in the circuit. For those looking for a wall light for a garden or terrace that operates continuously during nighttime hours, this lamp meets that need without complications.

The wall light can also be combined with other luminaires from the same range to create a coherent light distribution along a façade or patio. Mounted at an appropriate height on the wall, it projects light both downward and to the sides, improving visibility of the surroundings without causing direct glare.

Questions and answers

Does this wall lamp include the E27 LED bulb at the time of purchase?

No, the wall light does not include a bulb. It is necessary to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 base and a maximum power of 15 W. As it is a standard base, it can easily be found at any electrical supply retailer.

Does the polycarbonate body withstand direct sun exposure throughout the year?

Polycarbonate is a material suitable for outdoor use that tolerates solar radiation and thermal changes well. The matte white finish of the wall light helps reduce heat absorption. However, like any material constantly exposed to the sun, it may experience minimal changes over the course of many years.

Does this wall light include a motion sensor or any automatic detection system?

No, this lamp does not include a motion sensor or integrated detector. It operates continuously while connected to the power supply. If automatic detection is desired, it is possible to incorporate a compatible external sensor into the electrical installation circuit.
