Overview

The DORO wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor lighting. It is installed on façades, entrances, terraces and garden areas where stable, weather-protected lighting is needed. The wall light projects light on both sides, allowing broader illumination without relying on a single emission point.

The body is made of aluminium and the diffuser is made of prismatic glass. This combination offers durability against humidity, wind and continuous outdoor use. The IP65 protection ensures that neither rain nor dust will affect the lamp's performance over time.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in lighting. Its products combine quality materials with designs suited to both indoor and outdoor spaces, and are intended for those seeking durable, hassle-free solutions.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, it is important that the surface where it is fixed is firm and flat. Before starting installation, cut the power supply from the main panel. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as the lamp operates at 220V-240V. Check that the wall junction box is compatible with the wall light format and that all connections are properly sealed to maintain the IP65 protection of the assembly.

To clean the surface of the wall light, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey aluminium finish. The glass diffuser may accumulate dust or insect residue with outdoor use; clean it carefully without applying excessive pressure. Periodically check that the wall light remains securely fixed to the wall and that there is no moisture accumulation at the connection points.

Design and use

The DORO wall light has an elongated, flat profile that fits well on smooth or masonry surfaces. Its 380 mm length and only 75 mm depth make it discreet on the wall, without protruding excessively outward. The dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that suits concrete, stone, exposed brick or modern cladding façades. It does not compete visually with the architecture of the space, but integrates into it.

The prismatic glass diffuser distributes light evenly on both sides of the wall light. This is especially useful at house entrances, outdoor corridors or garden areas where a wide area needs to be illuminated without installing multiple luminaires. A single lamp covers more space thanks to this bidirectional emission.

The SMD LED light source is already included, with a colour temperature of 3000K. This warm tone creates a pleasant atmosphere on a terrace, garden or entrance, without the coldness of intense white lights. It is a light that does not cause eye fatigue and is functional both for clearly seeing the access point and for creating a comfortable atmosphere at nightfall.

The aluminium used to make the body is a lightweight yet resistant material. It withstands temperature changes, humidity and direct sun exposure for months without visibly deteriorating. The IP65 protection reinforces this durability: the wall light can operate in the rain without water penetrating the interior. This makes it suitable for permanent installations on north- or south-facing façades, in coastal areas with salt air, or in climates with frequent rainfall.

In terms of design, the DORO wall light works well in combination with other outdoor lighting elements. It can complement a ground spotlight in the garden, or be installed in pairs on either side of an entrance door. It also fits in projects where industrial materials are mixed with natural finishes, thanks to its clean profile and neutral colour.

If the access to your home has a separately installed motion sensor, the wall light can be integrated into that circuit to switch on automatically when movement is detected. This combination is practical for entrances or garages where it is not always convenient to leave the lamp on all night. The external motion sensor adds functionality without modifying the wall light itself.

Questions and answers

Can the DORO wall light be installed in an area directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The lamp has IP65 certification, meaning it is protected against water ingress in the form of jets and against dust particles. It can be installed on façades, terraces and gardens without the need for additional protection against rain.

Is the LED light source included with the wall light or does it need to be purchased separately?

The SMD LED light source is included with the wall light. No additional components are required for the lamp to function. The total power is 2x10W and the colour temperature is 3000K.

Does the DORO wall light emit light in only one direction or in both directions?

This wall light projects light on both sides. This allows a wider area to be illuminated with a single lamp, which is especially useful at entrances, outdoor corridors or façades where shadowed areas are to be avoided.
