Overview

BRONX is an outdoor wall light designed to be mounted directly on the wall. It works well in gardens, terraces, and facades where functional lighting is needed without sacrificing a refined finish. The dark grey body gives it an industrial character that pairs well with materials such as concrete, stone, or metal.

The lamp was designed by Alex & Manel Lluscà for the brand FARO, a Spanish company with years of experience in lighting for residential and everyday-use spaces. The result is a wall light with clean lines that does not overload the visual space of the facade. Its aluminium construction ensures it holds up well in outdoor conditions without losing its presence.

The wall light has IP44 protection, making it suitable for areas exposed to moisture. It does not need to be placed in a fully sheltered location: it can withstand splashes and the humidity typical of outdoor environments.

Installation and specifications

Installing this wall light requires pre-existing wiring at the mounting point. A GU10 LED bulb compatible with the installation voltage must be purchased separately. The wall light is anchored directly to the wall using the included fastening elements. It is advisable to carry out the installation with the power off and, if in doubt, to consult an electrician.

Keeping the wall light in good condition simply requires wiping it with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used on the aluminium body or the glass diffuser. Periodically checking the condition of the bulb and the anchor points helps extend the lifespan of the lamp.

Design and use

The BRONX wall light is a surface luminaire designed for outdoor use. Its dark grey aluminium structure gives it solidity without adding weight: at under 400 grams, it is easy to handle during installation. The transparent glass diffuser allows light to pass through without excessive filtering, resulting in direct, clean illumination on the wall or the ground nearby.

The industrial style of the wall light suits environments where uncoated finishes predominate: exposed brick walls, concrete walls, iron railings, or metal structures. It also integrates well on the facades of modern homes with neutral-toned finishes. The dark grey body pairs easily with white, black, or any grey shade on the supporting wall.

The lamp uses a GU10 LED light source, a common type of bulb that can be found without difficulty in any lighting store. LED technology keeps energy consumption low without sacrificing light quality. It is important to choose a bulb whose colour temperature is appropriate for the intended use: warmer tones create a cosier atmosphere on the terrace, while cooler tones are more functional for illuminating an entrance or a pathway garden.

Sun and rain are not a problem for this wall light thanks to its IP44 certification. This protection means the product resists both water splashes and continuous sun exposure, within the standard parameters of outdoor use. It is not designed to be submerged or to receive direct pressurised water jets, but it perfectly withstands the normal conditions of a garden or terrace.

As for placement, the BRONX wall light can be installed at whatever height best suits the specific need. At eye level, it provides a more diffused light source over the surroundings. Placed lower, near the ground, it can serve as a visual guide along a path or an outdoor staircase. On a terrace, two or three units distributed along the wall create balanced lighting without the need for a central spotlight.

The clean-line design and compact volume mean the wall light is not intrusive during the day. When the lamp is off, the unit blends discreetly into the facade. When switched on, the light it casts adds depth to the outdoor space without creating harsh contrasts. It is an option that works equally well at a frequently used entrance or in a corner of the garden where atmosphere is desired at night.

It does not include a motion sensor or presence detector, so its operation depends on the switch or control system used in the installation. This makes it a simple, no-fuss option for those who prefer to control directly when the luminaire turns on.
