Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on the exterior wall, an existing power outlet or wiring at the mounting point is required. Fixing is done directly onto the surface, with no recessed box needed. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in areas exposed to sun or humidity. Before starting, check that your electrical network voltage is compatible with the indicated range of 100V to 240V. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately before commissioning.

To keep the wall light in good condition, simply clean the aluminum body and diffuser with a slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark gray finish or the polycarbonate. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the lamp or the electrical connections. In the event of any malfunction, disconnect the wall light from the power supply before inspecting it.

Design and use

The FARO outdoor wall light is designed for those looking for a wall lamp that works well outdoors without drawing too much attention. It is not an ornate lantern or an industrial luminaire. It is a restrained piece, with clean lines, that integrates effortlessly into most facade finishes.

The body is made of die-cast aluminum, a material that withstands temperature changes and prolonged sun exposure well. The dark gray color of the body does not clash with either light-colored facades or stone or concrete walls. Unlike shinier finishes, dark gray does not show as much dirt accumulated from dust or rain.

The diffuser is made of opal polycarbonate. This material distributes the light from the bulb evenly, with no bright spots or marked shadows visible. It is a good option when the wall light is placed in a thoroughfare area — an entrance, a terrace access, or a garden side — where the light needs to be functional but not aggressive. The absence of direct reflections is also more comfortable when the wall light is at eye level.

With dimensions of 264 mm in length, 90 mm in height, and 110 mm in depth, this wall lamp occupies a moderate amount of space. It fits well both on walls with little margin and on larger surfaces where it could be installed in series with other wall lights of the same model. Combining several light points on the same facade or along a garden access gives an orderly result with good lighting coverage.

The use of an E27 LED light source allows the color temperature and intensity to be adjusted according to the surroundings. On a terrace with a warm atmosphere, a warm-tone LED bulb reinforces that feeling. In a more functional access, such as a garage entrance or the side of a facade, a neutral temperature provides better visibility. The lamp accepts a maximum power of 15 W, sufficient to illuminate a specific area without generating excessive consumption.

The motion sensor and presence detector are not integrated into this model, but the wall light can be connected to external sensor or timer systems if the wiring allows. This is useful in gardens or access areas where it is preferred that the light only activates on movement. For those cases, it would simply be necessary to incorporate an external motion sensor into the circuit.

The design by Alex & Manel Lluscà maintains a visual coherence that makes it compatible with various styles. It is not a decorative period spotlight or an autonomous solar piece. It is a straightforward wall light, without ornamentation, that fulfills its function without imposing a particular style.

Does the opal polycarbonate diffuser resist prolonged sun exposure without yellowing?

Polycarbonate is a common material in outdoor luminaires precisely because of its resistance to UV rays. Under normal conditions of use, the opal diffuser maintains its appearance without yellowing noticeably for years.

Is this wall light compatible with E27 LED bulbs from any manufacturer?

Yes, the E27 lamp holder is a standard socket compatible with most LED bulbs on the market. You only need to respect the maximum power of 15 W indicated by the manufacturer.

Does the weight of the wall light require a special anchor on the exterior wall?

With a net weight of 0.74 kg, the wall light does not require reinforced anchoring. Standard screws and wall plugs for facade installations are sufficient, always adapted to the type of wall material.
