Overview

The SAIGON stake by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for gardens, pathways, and open-air areas where the goal is to mark the space with soft light and a clean form. It is driven directly into the ground, with no need for construction work or complex installation. At a height of 1370 mm, it is visible from a distance and creates a lighting effect that guides movement or defines the perimeter of a terrace or patio.

The shade is made from polyester cord with UV treatment, allowing it to withstand sun exposure without losing color or shape over time. Light passes through the weave of the cord and generates a warm, diffuse visual effect, with no direct light spots. The body is made of aluminum in a dark grey finish, which pairs well with natural environments and materials such as stone, wood, or concrete.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in lighting. Its outdoor collections combine technical criteria with attention to design, focusing on solutions that work both in private gardens and in larger spaces.

Installation and specifications

No special tools are needed to install this stake. The fixing is directly into the ground, by driving the support into soft soil or garden areas with substrate. Before placing it, make sure the outdoor wiring is protected and that the connection point is out of reach of accumulated water. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a professional, especially outdoors. Make sure to use an E27 LED bulb compatible with a maximum of 15 W and a voltage between 100V and 240V.

For maintenance, clean the shade with a soft, damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may affect the polyester cord. The aluminum body can be cleaned in the same way. Periodically check the electrical connection, especially after periods of heavy rain or frost. If you notice any damage to the cable or the base, disconnect the lamp before handling it.

Design and use

The SAIGON collection is born with a clear idea: simple forms, free of unnecessary ornamentation. This outdoor stake fits well in gardens where visual order is desired without drawing too much attention. It is not a piece that seeks to stand out, but one that integrates into the surroundings and does its job at night in a discreet way.

The dark grey aluminum body remains stable over time. Aluminum is a material that does not oxidize easily and withstands temperature changes between seasons well. This makes it a valid option for areas where the climate varies, whether a garden with cold winters or a patio with hot summers.

The opal shade made from polyester cord resistant to sun exposure is one of the elements that distinguishes this luminaire. When switched on, light filters through the weave and creates a soft halo around the stake. There is no glare or bright spots. It is the kind of effect that looks good in photos and, above all, that is pleasant to the eye when one is in the garden in the afternoon or at night.

In a garden, bollards and stakes like this one are commonly used to mark entrance pathways, border lawn areas, or separate zones. Placed in a row, they create a visual guide that orients without the need for additional lights. They can also be used individually, near a large plant or in a corner of the patio where presence is desired without installing a wall spotlight.

On terraces, this stake works well if there is enough space on the ground. It requires no structure: it is simply driven in and connected. It is an alternative to floor-standing lanterns when something slimmer and more modern is desired. In patio areas with paving, installation requires planning a cable outlet point in the ground, something that should be considered before laying the flooring.

The SAIGON stake can also be combined with other garden luminaires, such as in-ground projectors or wall lanterns, to create coherent outdoor lighting. It is not essential to mix it with pieces from the same collection, but it is advisable for the other lights to share a similar finish, whether in dark or neutral tones, so that the overall look has visual unity.

The bulb is not included. By choosing an LED compatible with the E27 socket and up to 15 W, the light tone can be adjusted according to the desired effect: warmer for relaxed atmospheres or more neutral if the space has a more functional use. With an LED light source, consumption remains low and the lifespan is long, reducing the need to change bulbs frequently.

Questions and answers

Does the polyester cord shade hold up well against rain and direct sun exposure for years?

The polyester cord has UV resistance treatment, which protects it from deterioration caused by prolonged sun exposure. It is a material designed for outdoor use, so it also tolerates humidity and rain without deforming or losing its finish.

What type of ground do I need to drive this garden stake into?

The stake is designed to be fixed in soil or grass, which is the typical substrate found in gardens. It is not suitable for installation directly on paving without prior preparation, as it requires the lower part to be inserted into the ground.

Does the 680 mm diameter refer only to the shade or does it include part of the base?

The indicated total diameter of 680 mm corresponds to the widest measurement of the piece, which is the cylindrical shade. The ground fixing base has a narrower section. It is worth taking this diameter into account when planning the spacing between multiple bollards or between the stake and other garden elements.
