Overview

TIL is a recessed outdoor wall light designed by FARO, intended to mark paths, entrances, and walkways in gardens, patios, or facades. The light is directed toward the ground, allowing you to see clearly where you step without causing glare. Its body is integrated into the wall without protruding too much, giving a clean and tidy result.

It is a specific option for those who want to light the exterior discreetly. No visible cables, no elements that break the line of the wall. The wall light disappears into the surface and what remains is the light on the ground.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products combine functional design with materials built to last, and the TIL is a good example of that philosophy.

Installation and specifications

To install this recessed wall light, it is necessary to prepare a recessed box suited to the product's dimensions. The working voltage is 24VDC, so a compatible external transformer or driver is required. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor environments where conditions may vary. Check that the wall support is secure before fixing the wall light.

The aluminum body requires no special care, but it is advisable to clean the surface occasionally with a dry or slightly damp cloth to remove accumulated dust or dirt. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Avoid spraying water directly onto the wall light during cleaning.

Design and use

The TIL by FARO is a recessed wall light designed exclusively for outdoor use. Its main function is to project light downward, onto the ground, making it a practical solution for marking paths, steps, entrances, or walkways in gardens, entryways, or facades. It is not a decorative lamp in the usual sense: its purpose is to guide without dazzling, to illuminate without drawing attention.

The body is made of aluminum with a black finish. It is a resistant and lightweight material, suitable for outdoor conditions. The black color allows it to blend well into dark or neutral walls, although it also works as a contrast against lighter surfaces. The final result, once installed, is a wall light that is almost invisible during the day and fulfills its function when night falls.

The diffuser is made of clear glass. This allows the light from the LED spotlight to emerge in a direct and defined manner, without excessive dispersion. The color temperature is 2700K, which corresponds to a warm light, similar to that of a candle or a traditional incandescent bulb. This type of light is not harsh on the eyes and fits well with garden or patio settings where a welcoming and calm tone is desired.

The light source is a 3W COB LED, already included with the product. It is a technology that offers good light concentration in a small area, which is useful when the goal is to illuminate the ground directly in front of the wall light without wasting light in other directions. The 3W consumption is low, making this type of installation efficient when several wall lights are used along a path or wall.

The working voltage is 24VDC, which means it does not connect directly to the domestic 220V electrical network. An external transformer or driver is needed to convert the voltage. This is common in well-planned outdoor installations and allows the wall light to be integrated into garden lighting systems that already operate at low voltage. If you plan to install several light points along a path or entrance, this format makes planning the overall system easier.

Its dimensions are compact: 100 mm high, 40 mm long, and 43 mm deep. The weight is just 0.2 kg. This makes it easy to handle during installation and places no significant load on the wall. The hole required in the wall is small, which simplifies the work in materials such as brick, stone, or concrete blocks.

This wall light works well in private entrances, gardens, terraces, or walkways alongside the facade. It can also be used on outdoor steps to subtly mark each tread. In installations where a conspicuous light source or a large lamppost is not desired, the TIL offers a contained alternative that integrates into the architecture without a presence sensor or added elements. If the project includes a motion sensor, that component must be incorporated externally in the installation system.

The combination of aluminum, glass, and black finish gives it a sober appearance that suits modern facades, stone walls, or wooden fences. It is not a lantern, it is not a floor lamp: it is a recessed element that disappears into the wall and lets the light do its job.

Questions and answers

Does this wall light work connected directly to the 220V electrical network?

No. The TIL operates at 24VDC, so it requires an external transformer or driver to adapt the voltage. It does not connect directly to the domestic network.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 3W COB LED light source is included with the wall light. It does not need to be purchased separately.

What type of light does it emit and in which direction is it projected?

It emits warm light at 2700K and projects it downward, toward the ground. It is designed to mark walkways, not to illuminate vertical surfaces or large spaces.
