Overview

This recessed wall light is designed to illuminate gardens, terraces and exterior access areas in a discreet and long-lasting way. It is installed directly into the wall and emits a warm, directed light, ideal for marking paths, entrance steps or outdoor passageways. The result is a well-defined exterior with no visible cables and no elements that interrupt the line of the wall.

The lamp includes SMD LED technology with a colour temperature of 3000K, which produces a warm tone that integrates well with natural materials such as stone, wood or brick. No additional light source is required as the driver is included in the package.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in the design and manufacture of luminaires. Their products combine quality materials with careful construction, designed for both durability and visual result.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to create a recessed box in the wall before fixing the lamp. The recessed box is included. It is recommended that electrical work be carried out by a qualified professional. Verify that the existing wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage before connecting the wall light.

The aluminium surface can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the dark grey finish. Do not handle the lamp while the power is connected.

Design and use

The body of this recessed light is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness with strength. Outdoors, where temperature changes and environmental exposure are constant, aluminium maintains its shape and finish without warping. The dark grey colour blends well with walls of different shades, from off-white to exposed concrete, without drawing attention to itself.

The diffuser is made of polycarbonate with an opal finish. This material distributes light evenly and prevents the LED point from being directly visible, resulting in soft, glare-free illumination. It is a visually clean solution for exterior signage lighting, where what matters is marking the space without creating harsh contrasts of light and shadow.

The IP65 protection guarantees that this wall light resists both dust and direct water jets. This makes it suitable for installation on exposed facades, garden walls, covered access areas or terraces with a certain degree of exposure to rain. There is no need to find a particularly sheltered location: the lamp is designed to work in real outdoor conditions.

With only 3W of power, consumption is very low. Even so, the 93 lumens it emits are sufficient to fulfil its function as a signage or ambient light in passageway areas. This is not general lighting, but a recessed fitting designed to guide, define boundaries and create visual depth outdoors.

The compact dimensions — 140 mm in length, 70 mm in height and 72 mm in depth — allow this wall light to fit easily into narrow walls or spaces where a larger fitting would be excessive. It is also an interesting option for illuminating the access steps to a home, the edge of a terrace or the sides of a garden path.

Although its design is oriented towards outdoor use, the combination of materials and the sober finish also allow it to be used in well-ventilated interior areas with similar lighting needs. A service corridor, a hallway with access to a terrace or an entrance with plenty of natural light are environments where this type of recessed fitting can make sense. The warm colour temperature of 3000K helps create a welcoming atmosphere, neither cold nor industrial.

The universal voltage of 100V to 240V allows it to be installed without additional adapters in different countries or types of electrical installation. Both the recessed box and the driver are included, so there is no need to purchase anything separately to complete the installation.

There are specific situations where this type of lamp works better than any spotlight or surface-mounted wall light. An exterior staircase flanked by two or three recessed lights at the same height creates a clear visual guide without the need for independent lamp posts or bollards. The result looks planned from the outset, not added as an afterthought. The same applies to a covered corridor connecting the main house to a garage or service area: a row of recessed lights at mid-height defines the route and improves safety without installing a complex lighting structure.

In gardens with dense vegetation, wall-recessed lighting has another advantage: it does not visually compete with the plants or other landscape elements. The lamp is integrated into the wall, and what is perceived is the effect of the light on the surroundings, not the fixture itself. That kind of result, where the light source goes unnoticed, is difficult to achieve with surface-mounted wall lights or ground-level bollards.

The dark grey finish and the horizontal line of the body make this recessed fitting work well alongside modern facade cladding, such as smooth render, composite panel or regularly cut stone. It also adapts effortlessly to more rustic finishes, where the contrast between the aluminium and the wall texture adds a touch of detail. It is not a lamp that dominates the space, but one that complements it.

For those seeking coherence between the exterior and interior of the home, this wall light can be repeated in interior areas that share similar materials or colour palette. A bedroom with a concrete or exposed brick wall, for example, is perfectly suited to this type of recessed fitting as ambient or directed reading light. A bathroom with an industrial or minimalist aesthetic is another context where the dark grey aluminium and opal diffuser fit naturally, provided the installation is carried out in an area out of reach of direct splashes or has adequate protection.

Visual coherence between different areas of the home is achieved more easily when working with versatile luminaires. This is one of them: designed for outdoor use, but with a formal language neutral enough to coexist with modern interior spaces. Lighting does not have to change register every time a threshold is crossed.

Questions and answers

Can this recessed fitting be installed on an exterior wall directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The luminaire has IP65 protection, which means it resists both dust ingress and water jets. It is suitable for facades and exterior walls without the need for additional protection.

Is the SMD LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is included. The wall light incorporates a 3W SMD LED at 3000K ready to use, along with the driver and the recessed box required for installation.

What wall depth is needed to install this recessed fitting correctly?

The depth of the recessed fitting is 72 mm. The included recessed box must be housed in the wall with that minimum clearance. It is recommended to verify the thickness of the wall before beginning the installation work.
