Overview

The FARO in-ground recessed luminaire is a fixture designed to be installed flush with the floor in gardens, terraces, and façades. Its main function is to mark pathways, delimit areas, and add visual presence to the exterior without taking up space or interfering with foot traffic.

This 24W LED spotlight with a 24° beam angle concentrates the light beam upward, making it an effective option for illuminating plants, walls, or simply guiding the way along a garden path. The warm 3000K light creates a welcoming atmosphere without being harsh on the eye. The transparent glass protects the light source without altering the tone or diffusing the projection.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in exterior and interior lighting. Its products are aimed at residential and architectural projects where genuine durability is sought alongside a carefully considered visual result.

Installation and specifications

To install this in-ground recessed fixture, it is necessary to excavate or create a recess in the pavement of the size indicated in the product dimensions. The recessed box is included, which simplifies the process. The wiring must reach the installation point before placing the spotlight. It is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified installer. Check that the installation area allows adequate water drainage so as not to compromise long-term performance.

For maintenance, simply clean the outer surface with a damp cloth and, if necessary, with a neutral detergent. Avoid abrasive products or those containing solvents that could damage the satin finish of the steel. Do not open the luminaire while it is connected to the electrical mains. Periodically check that the glass is intact and that there is no accumulation of dirt that could reduce the light output.

Design and use

The body of this recessed fixture is made from 316L stainless steel, a material known for its high resistance to corrosion, especially in humid environments or those with salt exposure. This makes it suitable not only for indoor gardens, but also for installations near the sea or in areas with frequent rainfall. The aluminium present in the construction helps reduce the total weight without compromising the solidity of the assembly.

The transparent glass diffuser serves a dual purpose: it protects the internal COB LED and allows the light beam to exit without distortion. The 24° angle concentrates the illumination on a specific area, which is useful when you want to highlight an element such as a plant, a stone wall, or the edge of a staircase. Along a garden path, several spotlights placed at regular intervals create a continuous line of light that facilitates night-time movement without the need to install larger lanterns or floodlights.

The warm 3000K light is a choice that works well in residential exteriors. It does not produce that cold tone that can sometimes feel too technical for a private patio. The chosen temperature integrates easily with materials such as natural stone, treated wood, or exposed concrete, which are common in contemporary terraces and gardens.

The IP67 certification guarantees that the luminaire can withstand temporary immersion in water, in addition to being completely sealed against dust and solid particles. This means it can be installed in areas where water temporarily accumulates after heavy rain, without affecting the operation of the spotlight. The IK08 impact resistance adds another level of safety: the glass and housing are prepared to withstand moderate impacts, which is relevant in high-traffic areas.

The ability to support a rolling load of up to 1000 kg means this recessed fixture can be installed in access areas where light vehicles pass, such as garage entrances or private driveways. Not all in-ground spotlights are designed for this use, and this feature considerably expands the installation possibilities.

On a façade, these spotlights create grazing light effects on textured surfaces. On the access floor of a single-family home, they delineate the path from the street to the door. On a terrace, they can be combined with other exterior luminaires to achieve different lighting planes without relying on a single overhead light source.
