Overview

There are areas of the garden or terrace that remain in semi-darkness when night falls, and a streetlamp or a high-mounted spotlight is not always the most suitable solution. This FARO floor recessed light allows you to illuminate pathways, zone edges and access points directly from the ground, with no protruding elements or obstructions.

The spotlight is designed to be installed flush with the ground outdoors. It creates a line of light that guides the route, defines the garden or marks the boundaries of a terrace in a discreet way. It takes up no visual space, yet fulfils its purpose: orienting and providing a luminous presence in transitional spaces.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in both indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products for outdoor use are designed for real conditions: rain, dust, temperature variations and continuous use. This recessed light is part of that line of durable solutions for the exterior of the home.

Installation and specifications

To install this floor spotlight, it is necessary to create a formwork or concrete box in the floor to house the body of the recessed fixture. It is recommended to plan a watertight conduit for the wiring before pouring or compacting the surface covering. The spotlight supports wheeled traffic of up to 1000 kg, making it suitable for transit surfaces. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified installer, in accordance with current regulations for outdoor installations and IP67.

For maintenance, simply clean the glass surface with a damp cloth when necessary. Abrasive products or solvents must not be used. The anodised black aluminium finish requires no additional treatment. Periodically check that the fitting area does not accumulate compacted soil that could hinder the watertight seal.

Design and use

This recessed floor spotlight combines materials designed to withstand continuous outdoor use: the body is made of 316L stainless steel together with aluminium, two materials that hold up well against humidity, temperature changes and prolonged exposure to the elements. The anodised black finish gives it a clean, neutral appearance that integrates effortlessly into stone, concrete, outdoor wood or terrace paving surfaces.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass, allowing light to project directly upward and to the sides without losing intensity. The included honeycomb anti-glare panel reduces glare: the light illuminates the ground and surroundings without being uncomfortable to the eye when walking near the spotlight. It is a detail that makes a difference in spaces where people move around or sit at the level of the recessed fixture.

The colour temperature of 3000K provides a warm light, similar to classic halogen. In a garden, that tone creates a pleasant atmosphere at night without feeling too cold or industrial. On a façade or along the edges of a terrace, that same tone creates a continuous lighting effect that does not distort the colours of plants, stones or wood.

With just 7W of consumption using COB LED technology, this recessed fixture offers efficient lighting that can remain on for several hours without significant energy expenditure. The light source is already included, so there is no need to purchase it separately.

The IP67 protection rating guarantees that the device withstands temporary immersion in water, which in practice means that heavy rain, puddles or garden irrigation do not affect its operation. The IK08 classification indicates that it can withstand mechanical impacts without deteriorating, which is especially useful in transit areas. In addition, it supports wheeled traffic of up to 1000 kg, so it can be installed in access points where light vehicles circulate without risk of damage.

Its compact dimensions, 80 x 80 mm base and 90 mm height, make it easy to integrate into almost any paving without being invasive. It can be placed in a row to mark a path in the garden or on the floor of a terrace, along the edges of an outdoor staircase, along a façade or at the entrances to a courtyard. Arranging several recessed spotlights in a line creates a luminous pathway that is functional at night and almost invisible during the day.
