Overview

The GEISER 80 by FARO is an outdoor recessed fixture designed for signage and to guide movement in open spaces. It is installed directly in the ground and works well in gardens, patios, building entrances, and transit areas where a path needs to be defined without aggressive illumination.

What sets this spotlight apart is its IP67 protection rating, which makes it resistant to rain, humidity, and dust. It works reliably in areas near the sea or in salt-water environments, something not all outdoor products can guarantee. Additionally, once installed, it can be oriented to adjust the direction of the light according to the needs of the space. The ANTI-GLARE accessory prevents glare, which is useful when people are walking near the fixture.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its outdoor catalog combines functionality and durable materials designed to withstand continuous outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to prepare a recess in the ground with the appropriate dimensions to house the body of the recessed fixture. As it is a floor-mounted fixture, it is important to ensure that the base is firm and level before placing the luminaire. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in outdoor installations where humidity can affect the components. The spotlight does not include the GU10 LED bulb, so it must be purchased separately before commissioning.

The satin stainless steel surface is easy to clean with a damp cloth. The use of abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish is not recommended. In coastal areas, it is advisable to periodically inspect the luminaire to ensure there is no accumulation of salt or other residue on the seals and glass.

Design and use

The GEISER 80 is built with 316L stainless steel and aluminium, two materials that work well together in outdoor conditions. 316L stainless steel has a composition that makes it especially resistant to chloride corrosion, which explains why this recessed fixture can be installed near the sea without the material deteriorating over time. The aluminium adds lightness to the assembly without sacrificing solidity.

The transparent glass diffuser allows light to pass through without distortion and stays clean with basic maintenance. The combination of a satin stainless finish and transparent glass produces a visually discreet result, one that does not draw attention to itself but integrates into the surroundings.

This floor-recessed spotlight is a practical solution for gardens where a path needs to be marked without installing posts or elements that interrupt the view of the space. Installed flush with the floor, it guides movement at night clearly but without creating a light source that causes discomfort. On a terrace, this type of recessed fixture allows the space to be enjoyed at any time without the need for floor lamps that take up space or visible cables.

At building entrances or on facades, the GEISER 80 helps to mark steps, level changes, or path edges. It is a functional lighting element that also serves as a visual reference for those moving through the space. In private patios or communal areas, floor recessed fixtures create light pathways that organize the space in a simple way.

The orientability of the spotlight after installation is a detail that facilitates fine adjustment. Once placed, the angle of the light can be modified to point exactly where needed, without having to alter the installation. The included ANTI-GLARE accessory controls the distribution of light, preventing it from being bothersome to those walking nearby.

Compatibility with standard GU10 LED bulbs makes it straightforward to find the right type of light for each use. A warm-temperature LED creates a more welcoming atmosphere in gardens and patios, while a more neutral temperature works well in entrances and transit areas. The luminaire accepts up to 8 W, sufficient to fulfill its signage function without excessive consumption.

Questions and answers

Can the GEISER 80 be installed in areas with salt water or near the sea?

Yes. The body is made of 316L stainless steel, a material designed to resist corrosion in environments with salt exposure. The IP67 rating also guarantees protection against humidity and rain, making it suitable for installations in coastal areas.

Yes. Once fixed in the ground, it is possible to modify the orientation of the light beam to direct it where needed. There is no need to disassemble the luminaire to make that adjustment.
