Overview

The SCREEN lamp by FARO is a surface-mounted luminaire designed for wall installation, intended for outdoor spaces. It is mounted directly onto the facade or any exterior wall, with no need for a post or additional structure. It is a practical option for lighting gardens, entrances, patios, or terraces where functional and long-lasting light is desired.

The SCREEN lantern is made of aluminum and transparent polycarbonate, giving it real resistance to everyday outdoor use. It carries IP65 certification, which guarantees protection against rain and dust ingress. Its IK10 impact resistance rating makes it suitable for areas with greater physical exposure. The COB LED light source is already included, with a color temperature of 4000K that produces a neutral white light, pleasant for orientation on the ground or along garden paths.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting design. Its SCREEN collection addresses specific outdoor installation needs, combining resistant materials with a dark grey finish that integrates effortlessly into different types of facades.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lantern, make sure the wall surface is clean, dry, and level. As it is an outdoor wall-mounted fixture, it is recommended to verify that the wiring is properly protected and that the installation is carried out by a qualified electrician. Check that the mains voltage is compatible with the indicated range of 100V–240V before connecting the lamp.

To clean the surface of the lantern, use a slightly damp cloth and avoid abrasive products that could damage the aluminum finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Do not use pressurized water directly on the luminaire, even though it has IP65 rating. Periodically check the condition of the anchors to ensure that the mounting bracket or wall support remains secure.

Design and use

The SCREEN lantern by FARO is conceived as a technical outdoor lamp, without unnecessary decorative concessions. Its clean and compact design makes it compatible with modern facades, stone walls, or dark claddings, where the dark grey body integrates without drawing too much attention.

The aluminum body gives it solidity without adding excessive weight. It is a material that withstands temperature changes and humidity well, which are common in garden, patio, or terrace areas. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the COB LED light to project directly and without interference, covering the nearby ground and passageways well.

The 360º version of the lantern distributes light symmetrically around the installation point, which is useful when you want to illuminate a wide area from a single point on the wall. The wide variant, on the other hand, projects light over a greater distance, which is practical for long entrances or garden paths where ground-level bollards would not be sufficient.

At 4000K, the color temperature falls within a neutral range, neither too warm nor too cool. This allows for a comfortable outdoor atmosphere without distorting the colors of the surroundings. It is a common temperature in practical-use luminaires, where seeing clearly matters without the light being harsh.

The IP65 certification ensures that the lantern is protected against water jets from any direction, as well as being completely dust-tight. This makes it suitable for permanent outdoor installations, even in areas with frequent rainfall or near fountains and green areas with irrigation. The IK10 impact resistance level adds a layer of protection against accidental knocks, which can occur in busy garden areas or semi-public environments such as parks.

The lamp comes with the light source included, which simplifies setup. There is no need to find a compatible LED or adapt it: it is installed and works from the very first moment. The 14W power output is sufficient for functional outdoor lighting without high energy consumption.

The SCREEN lantern can be combined with other luminaires from the same collection to create a uniform line along a facade, or used as a single light point on a garden wall. It also works well alongside ground-level bollards or taller posts, complementing the lighting at different heights and avoiding dark spots.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN lantern include the LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is already included in the lantern. No additional component needs to be purchased to put it into operation.

What is the difference between the 360º option and the wide variant of the SCREEN lantern?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions from the mounting point. The wide variant projects light over a greater distance, making it more suitable for illuminating long paths or larger garden or terrace areas.

Is IP65 certification sufficient for installing the lantern in an area with frequent rainfall?

Yes. The IP65 rating guarantees full protection against dust and against water jets from any angle, making the lantern suitable for permanent outdoor installations exposed to adverse weather conditions.
