Overview

The RUSH collection by FARO is a technical lighting line designed for outdoor spaces. This particular model is a wall light: it mounts directly to the wall and projects light outward without the need for posts or additional structures. It is a practical solution for gardens, patios, entrances, and passageways where stable, long-lasting lighting is needed.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, giving it resistance to outdoor conditions without adding unnecessary weight. The IP65 rating ensures protection against rain and dust ingress, so it works well in exposed areas. The IK10 rating indicates it can withstand physical impacts, which is useful in high-traffic spaces or areas with frequent pedestrian use.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine demanding technical criteria with careful design, aimed at both residential use and larger-scale projects.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a power point is required on the wall where the light is to be mounted. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves connection to a 220V–240V mains supply. Before fixing the wall light, it is advisable to carefully mark the anchor points to ensure a level position. The wiring must be protected and not exposed to the elements.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface of the light with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The transparent PC diffuser may accumulate dirt over time; periodic cleaning maintains light output. The luminaire should not be submerged or have pressurised water applied directly to it, although its IP65 rating protects against normal rainfall.

Design and use

The RUSH wall light by FARO has a compact and functional profile. At 250 mm in height and 160 mm on each side, it does not take up too much space on the wall, yet offers a clear visual presence thanks to its dark grey finish. The aluminium body provides stability against temperature changes and prolonged sun exposure, while the transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without distortion.

The light source is an integrated 14W COB LED, meaning there is no need to worry about changing bulbs. This type of LED concentrates multiple emission points in a single area, producing uniform and well-distributed light. The 4000K colour temperature corresponds to a neutral white light, neither too cool nor too warm, suitable for illuminating paths, façades, or access areas where good visibility is needed without creating an overly cold atmosphere.

The 360º option of this light allows for a symmetrical distribution of light around the installation point. This is especially useful when the light is placed at a corner or at a central point along a path, as it illuminates in all directions without leaving any areas in darkness. The wide variant, on the other hand, is designed to project light over a greater distance, which can be useful in larger gardens or terrace areas where a more extensive area needs to be covered.

The CASAMBI version allows this light to be integrated into a wireless control system. Through Casambi technology, it is possible to dim the intensity, create lighting scenes, or schedule on and off times from an app. This turns the light into a connected element within a more complete installation, without the need for additional control wiring.

In terms of use, this wall light fits well on house façades, garden walls, covered entrances, or patio areas with an available wall surface. Its dark grey finish makes it compatible with concrete, stone, or brick surfaces without clashing. It can also be combined with other elements from the RUSH collection to create a coherent lighting scheme across the entire outdoor area. It does not rely on solar energy nor does it incorporate a motion sensor, so it operates continuously according to the schedule programmed or the switch that controls it.

The post is not part of this model, as it is a wall light, but within the RUSH collection there are other variants that do include post or ground mounting, allowing the lighting of an outdoor space to be completed with elements from the same line.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that this light has an IP65 rating?

The IP65 rating indicates that the light is fully protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor use, even in areas exposed to direct rainfall.

Does the CASAMBI version require additional installation or special hardware?

The CASAMBI version has the wireless control module integrated. It does not require additional wiring for control. You simply need to download the Casambi app and pair the luminaire to be able to control it from your phone.

What is the difference between the 360º option and the wide variant of this light?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions around the installation point. The wide variant projects light over a greater distance, covering a larger area but with a more directional distribution. The choice depends on the space and the effect you want to achieve.
