Overview

The MISTU 310 by FARO is an outdoor wall lamp designed to be mounted directly on vertical surfaces. It works well at house entrances, patios, terraces, and any outdoor space where discreet and stable lighting is needed. Its wall-mount format means it does not hang or extend outward more than necessary: it attaches to the wall and directs light in a controlled manner.

The aluminum body provides solidity without adding unnecessary weight. The opal PMMA diffuser distributes light evenly, without creating bright spots or harsh shadows. The 310 mm height version fits well on both facade walls and covered garden area walls.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products are designed for real use, with materials that withstand the test of time and demanding conditions.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a surface-mounted wall box prepared for surface mounting is required. As this is an outdoor fixture, it is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a certified electrician. Verify that the existing wiring is compatible with the working voltage before proceeding. The mounting bracket is fixed directly to the wall with appropriate anchors depending on the wall type.

The lamp does not include a bulb. An E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W must be purchased separately. For diffuser maintenance, it is recommended to clean with a slightly damp soft cloth, avoiding abrasive products that may scratch the PMMA. The aluminum body can be cleaned in the same way. The luminaire must not be opened while the installation is live.

Design and use

The MISTU 310 is a wall lantern with a contemporary design that does not draw attention to itself. Its shape is clean, with straight lines and a dark gray finish that integrates well with modern facades, concrete walls, stone cladding, or surfaces painted in neutral tones. It does not compete with its surroundings: it is simply there, fulfilling its function.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with strength. Outdoors, this matters: aluminum does not rust like iron and maintains its shape even when temperatures change or there is ambient humidity. The total weight of the piece is 1.67 kg, which makes handling easy during installation and does not require special anchors in most conventional walls.

The opal PMMA diffuser is the element that defines how the light is perceived. Unlike a transparent diffuser, the opal softens the emission and distributes it more evenly. This is especially noticeable on terraces or patios where people spend time: the light does not bother the eyes and creates a more pleasant atmosphere. There is no concentrated light source, but rather an illuminated area with soft transitions.

As a wall-mounted lantern, its installation is directly on the wall. This makes it suitable for both main house entrances and side garden areas where a path needs to be marked or a service door illuminated. It can be installed in pairs on both sides of a door for balanced lighting, or alone as a visual reference point on a facade.

In terms of scale, 310 mm in height is a medium size. It is not a small decorative lantern, but it is also not bulky on walls of standard height. It works well at ground floor level and also at mid-height on garden walls or secondary posts. Its depth of 190 mm keeps the profile close to the wall, without the lamp protruding noticeably.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows the color temperature to be chosen according to preference: warm white for a cozier feel, or neutral white if greater visibility is desired. Being LED, energy consumption is low and the bulb has a long lifespan, reducing the need for frequent maintenance.

This lantern fits renovation projects for both single-family homes and residential communities or commercial spaces with exterior access. Its contemporary style makes it compatible with current architecture without appearing generic. The combination of aluminum and PMMA does not imitate more rustic materials such as wrought iron or wood: it has its own identity, straightforward and functional.

Questions and answers

Does the MISTU 310 lamp accept any E27 bulb or are there power restrictions?

It accepts bulbs with an E27 base, but the maximum power must not exceed 15 W. The use of LED bulbs is recommended, as they generate less heat and are more efficient within that power limit.

Is the dark gray aluminum body painted or does it have an anodized finish?

The available information indicates that the finish is dark gray on an aluminum body. For specific inquiries about the type of surface treatment, you can contact the customer service team.

Can the MISTU 310 lantern be installed on a post or only on a wall?

It is specifically designed as a wall-mount fixture, meaning for direct fixing on vertical surfaces. It is not intended for installation on a post or ground without specific adapters not included with the product.
