Overview

TOBA is an outdoor pendant lamp designed for open-air spaces where lighting must withstand environmental conditions without losing visual presence. It is installed on the ceiling of porches, covered terraces, pergolas, and entrances, and works well in both modern settings and more natural or rustic proposals.

What makes this lamp different is its modular composition system. Each TOBA unit incorporates an accessory that allows it to be joined with other lamps in the same series, forming pendant groups adapted to the available space. You can place a single piece or create a larger composition depending on the ceiling size or the lighting needs of the location.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting design. Its outdoor products combine materials designed to withstand continuous use with an aesthetic that fits contemporary residential environments.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this pendant lamp, check that the anchor point on the ceiling is solid and prepared to support the weight of the assembly, especially if you are going to join several TOBA units using the included accessory. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it involves direct connection to the mains. Verify that the voltage of your installation is compatible with the indicated range before connecting.

Clean the silicone surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. For the opal diffuser, simply remove dust regularly. Since it is an outdoor luminaire, periodically check the connections and the general condition of the piece to ensure safe long-term use.

Design and use

TOBA is an outdoor pendant lamp that combines a beige silicone body with an opal diffuser made from PEMD. This combination of materials results in a visually lightweight piece, with diffuse and uniform light that does not produce annoying glare or concentrations of intensity at a single point.

The silicone body is flexible and resistant, making it particularly suitable for outdoor use. Silicone tolerates temperature changes well and maintains its shape and color over time, without the beige finish losing its warmth. The opal diffuser softens the E27 LED light source and distributes the illumination evenly throughout the surroundings.

The piece measures 180 mm in diameter and 241 mm in height, compact proportions that make it versatile for different configurations. It does not take up too much space on the ceiling, but has enough visual presence to define a specific lighting area. It works well in covered entrances, under a porch, on a terrace with a fixed roof, or in an interior courtyard with exterior access.

The most notable feature of this model is its ability to integrate into compositions. The built-in accessory allows several TOBA lights to be connected to one another, creating pendant groups that adapt to larger spaces without the need to install additional light points on the ceiling. This possibility makes TOBA more than just an individual lamp: it is a system with which you can gradually expand the installation according to the needs of the space.

On a terrace with a garden, a composition of several TOBA units over the outdoor dining area generates balanced lighting without resorting to directional spotlights. On a smaller porch, a single unit is sufficient to illuminate the entrance with a warm tone and without harsh shadows. In a gallery or outdoor passageway, the scale of the lamp fits the space well without appearing disproportionate.

The beige finish integrates easily into natural environments, whitewashed walls, light woods, or stone textures. It is not a pure white or a striking off-white, but a neutral and warm tone that does not compete with the materials of the surroundings. Both in interiors with access to the outside and in fully covered open-air spaces, the lamp maintains a discreet but defined presence.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs of up to 12 W allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits the use. A warm light (2700 K – 3000 K) is the usual option for rest areas or terrace dinners. For a more active courtyard or an entrance requiring greater visibility, a neutral temperature works equally well with this diffuser.

The modern finish of the lamp does not lean strongly toward industrial or rustic, which gives it the ability to adapt to varied styles without forcing any particular decorative concept.

Questions and answers

Is the accessory for joining several TOBA lamps included in the box or does it need to be purchased separately?

The accessory is built into each TOBA unit. It does not need to be purchased separately. With it you can connect several lamps from the same series to create pendant compositions according to the available space.

Can the beige silicone body become discolored with prolonged sun exposure outdoors?

Silicone is a material designed to withstand outdoor conditions, including sun exposure. The beige tone is integrated into the material, so it maintains its appearance with basic maintenance and without the need for additional treatments.

Is the lamp compatible with standard screw bulbs or does it require a specific type?

The socket is E27, which is the most common standard size. It accepts LED bulbs of up to 12 W with this type of screw. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.
