Overview

The SAIGON OUT S T70 pendant lamp by FARO is designed for outdoor spaces. It is installed directly on the ceiling with a fixed anchor and without the need for cable tensioners. This makes it a more stable option than versions with a loose cable, especially useful in areas exposed to wind or changing weather conditions.

It works well on covered terraces, gardens with pergolas, entrance porches, or roofed outdoor patios. Its aluminum structure with a dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that fits both modern and more classic settings. The opal diffuser distributes light without creating bright spots or shadowed areas.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. It works for both indoor and outdoor use, with products designed to last under real conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, a firm anchor point on the exterior ceiling is required. Since this is a pendant lamp with a fixed ceiling attachment and no tensioners, the support must be solid and capable of holding the weight of the unit. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician or technician, as it involves connection to the electrical mains and work at height. Before starting, verify that the power supply is switched off. The lamp is compatible with voltages from 100V to 240V, making it suitable for standard installation in Spain and most countries.

For cleaning, a dry or slightly damp cloth on the surface of the aluminum body is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The PEMD diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. Do not wet the electrical components. Periodically check the condition of the anchor, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT S T70 fixed pendant by FARO is a lamp designed from the ground up for outdoor use. Its body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with durability. The dark grey finish gives it a discreet presence that does not compete with its surroundings, but rather integrates into them.

The diffuser made of PEMD with an opal finish is one of the most important elements of this luminaire. It does not allow direct visibility of the light source, which prevents glare when looking upward. The light it projects is uniform, without harsh contrasts, which is especially pleasant in a garden or on a terrace where people sit and spend time.

The fixed ceiling mounting system, without tensioners, is one of the features that distinguishes this model. On a porch or a pergola, a pendant lamp with a loose cable can move in the wind, and over time that movement ends up affecting the connection points. The fixed anchor eliminates that problem: the lamp remains firmly and stably held, regardless of the surrounding conditions.

With a total diameter of 665 mm and a height of 535 mm, it has a significant visual presence. It is not a discreet lamp, nor is it intended to go unnoticed. In a medium-sized patio or on a roofed terrace, this format works as the central lighting piece, providing sufficient light for the entire area without the need to supplement it with other lights.

The porch of a country house, an outdoor gallery, or a garden pergola are places where this type of pendant fits naturally. If the space has a more rustic character, the dark grey of the aluminum does not clash. If the setting is more modern, the clean lines of the design adapt equally well. This dual adaptability is what makes the SAIGON OUT work in different contexts without feeling out of place.

The bulb is not included. It accepts an E27 LED base with a maximum power of 15W. As it is intended for outdoor use, it is recommended to choose a bulb suitable for outdoors or with moisture protection. With a good choice of bulb, the distribution of light through the opal diffuser is homogeneous and enveloping, ideal for creating a warm atmosphere in the evening or nighttime hours.

A terrace with this lamp installed on the ceiling changes visually when night falls. The light does not fall at a single point, but spreads softly throughout the entire area. The effect is more similar to that of a well-lit room than a spotlight. This allows the outdoor space to be used comfortably and for extended periods, without lighting being a factor that limits the experience.

Questions and answers

Why does this model use a fixed anchor instead of tensioners?

The fixed anchor provides greater stability in outdoor environments where wind or weather conditions can move a pendant lamp with a loose cable. This construction reduces movement and prevents premature wear of the connections.

Does the PEMD diffuser with opal finish hold up well under continuous outdoor exposure?

PEMD is a suitable material for use in outdoor luminaires. The opal finish not only has an aesthetic function, but also helps to distribute light evenly and protects the light source from direct view, reducing the visual impact of glare.

What diameter does this lamp have and what size space is it suitable for?

The total diameter is 665 mm. It is a generously sized lamp, designed to be the central lighting point in medium to large outdoor spaces, such as a patio, a roofed terrace, or an entrance porch.
