Overview

The SAIGON C70 pendant lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed for those looking for something simple yet characterful at the same time. It works well on a porch, terrace, covered patio, or any outdoor area where you want to create an atmosphere with warm light and visual presence.

The shade is made from UV-resistant polyester rope in an olive green tone. The material allows light to pass through in a diffuse way, creating a soft glow effect around the lamp. It is not a direct or harsh light, but one that fills the space calmly. The body is made of aluminum with a dark grey finish, giving it stability and understated elegance at the same time.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long history in the design of indoor and outdoor lighting. The SAIGON collection is part of their contemporary outdoor lighting line, where clean shapes and durable materials take center stage.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the pendant lamp, make sure the ceiling fixing point is solid and suitable for outdoor load. As this is an outdoor luminaire, the wiring must be protected and suitable for use in exposed areas. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if the porch or terrace does not already have a prepared cable outlet. Verify that the E27 socket is compatible with the LED bulb you intend to use, as the lamp does not include a light source.

To clean the aluminum body, simply use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish. The polyester rope shade can be cleaned with a soft cloth without rubbing excessively. Do not submerge any part in water. Although the lamp is designed for outdoor use, it is advisable to inspect it periodically to ensure that the fixing and wiring remain in good condition.

Design and use

The SAIGON collection by FARO was born with a clear idea: clean shapes, materials that stand the test of time, and an aesthetic that does not compete with the surroundings but complements them. This pendant lamp is the result of that approach. It has no superfluous ornamentation. What you see is what it is: a well-proportioned aluminum structure and a shade that does the visual work with understated elegance.

The C70 cone-shaped diffuser is woven from polyester rope treated to resist solar radiation. The olive green tone has a rustic quality that connects well with gardens, nearby vegetation, or natural materials such as wood and stone. When the light is on, the rope allows the glow to filter outward evenly, creating a luminous volume effect that is pleasant both in ambient lighting and in more functional installations.

The aluminum body with a dark grey finish gives solidity to the whole without making it visually heavy. It is a neutral tone that adapts to modern or industrial-style facades, but also to warmer spaces where rustic elements are present. On a terrace with dark wood or rattan furniture, this pendant lamp fits effortlessly. On a more contemporary porch with exposed concrete or metal, it does too.

The dimensions of 680 mm in both height and diameter make it a piece with real presence. It is not a small corner lamp, but one that can mark the center of an outdoor living area, such as the main table of a patio or the rest area of a covered gallery. In larger spaces, it can be installed in groups to generate broader lighting and create a continuous visual effect.

The lamp is suitable for outdoor use and accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which comfortably covers the usual lighting needs in areas such as a garden, terrace, or patio. As no bulb is included, you can choose the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you are looking for: warmer tones to create a cozy setting at dusk, or more neutral tones if you need better visibility.

An installation of this type can also work well on a pergola or covered balcony, where a ceiling pendant is viable and you want to add a light point with personality without overloading the space. The combination of materials, the finish, and the proportions make this luminaire an option that holds up visually over time, without looking out of place after a season.

Questions and answers

Does the polyester rope shade withstand direct sun exposure without fading?

The polyester rope used in this lamp has UV resistance, which protects it against direct solar radiation and reduces the risk of fading with continued outdoor use.

Does the E27 socket accept any type of LED bulb on the market?

Yes, the E27 socket is one of the most common and is compatible with the majority of available LED bulbs, as long as they do not exceed the maximum power of 15 W indicated for this lamp.

Can this pendant lamp be installed on a wooden porch or pergola ceiling?

Yes, as long as the anchor point is firm and can support the weight of 1.67 kg. On wooden ceilings it is common to use plugs and screws specific to that material; ideally, an installer should check this before proceeding.
