Overview

The SAIGON OUT M C70 pendant lamp by FARO is designed for outdoor spaces: terraces, gardens, porches, or patios. It is a suspension luminaire that is fixed directly to the ceiling without the need for tension cables, making it especially stable in adverse weather conditions. The fixed anchor gives it a solidity that other pendant models with floating cable systems do not have.

The aluminium body in a dark grey finish gives it a clean, contemporary look. The PEMD opal diffuser distributes light evenly, without excessive bright spots. It works with an E27 LED bulb of up to 15W, which is not included but is easy to find in any store.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this outdoor lamp, check that the ceiling point where you are going to fix it can bear the weight of the assembly: almost 1.7 kg plus the tension of the cable. As this is a pendant model with a fixed anchor and no tension cables, you need a solid surface, whether concrete, structural wood, or a metal profile. If the ceiling is hollow or made of plasterboard, use plugs specific to that material. Always disconnect the power before starting the installation and verify that the voltage of your installation is compatible with the indicated range.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the aluminium body with a damp and dry cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. The opal diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Periodically check the condition of the cable and the ceiling fixing, especially if the lamp is exposed to wind. If you detect any damage to the wiring, stop using the lamp until the affected part has been replaced.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT M C70 is an outdoor pendant lamp designed for those who seek functional lighting in open spaces without sacrificing a refined appearance. The pendant model has a diameter of 665 mm, making it a notably prominent option, suitable for large areas such as a garden with a seating area, a generously sized terrace, or a porch with sufficient height.

The body is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish. It is a material that withstands temperature changes, humidity, and continuous outdoor exposure well. It does not deform with heat or rust easily, making it suitable for long-term outdoor use. The combination of dark grey with the white opal diffuser creates a clean contrast that fits both modern environments and spaces with a more rustic aesthetic.

The PEMD diffuser in an opal finish distributes light in a soft and uniform manner. This is especially useful on a terrace or patio where you want to create a warm atmosphere at night, without the harsh effect of a direct light source. Diffused lighting avoids glare and makes the space more pleasant to the eye.

One of the features that distinguishes this model is its fixed ceiling anchor system, without tension cables. In an outdoor pendant lamp, this makes a real difference: tension cables can vibrate or move in the wind, while direct anchoring keeps the lamp stable at all times. If you have a pergola with a solid roof, a covered porch, or an outdoor gallery, this model adapts well to those conditions.

The lamp uses an E27 LED bulb of up to 15W, a very common and accessible type of fitting. When choosing the bulb, you can adjust the light tone you prefer: warm for a garden with an intimate atmosphere, or more neutral if you need good visibility in the patio or entrance. LED lights with this fitting also consume little energy and last a long time, which reduces maintenance.

The weight of 1.67 kg is moderate for a luminaire of these dimensions. As an outdoor pendant model, its total height of 965 mm gives the assembly visual prominence without being excessive in spaces with standard ceiling heights. On a terrace with a roof at 2.5 or 3 metres, it is well proportioned and does not create a sense of overcrowding.

As for combining with other elements, the dark grey finish of the body is neutral and versatile. It works well with outdoor furniture in natural tones, with metal structures, or with wooden elements. If the space already has other lights, this pendant lamp can act as a central lighting point, complemented by spotlights or lanterns at the edges of the area.

Questions and answers

Does this pendant model need tension cables or additional wires to be installed?

No. The SAIGON OUT M C70 has a direct fixed anchor system to the ceiling, without tension cables. This makes it more stable against wind and more robust in adverse outdoor conditions.

Does the PEMD opal diffuser withstand continuous exposure to sun and rain well?

The diffuser is designed for outdoor use, so it withstands normal environmental exposure. Even so, it is recommended to clean it periodically with a damp cloth to maintain its appearance and transparency.

Does the 100V–240V voltage allow this lamp to be installed in any standard Spanish domestic electrical installation?

Yes. The voltage range covers the standard mains voltage in Spain (230V), so it is compatible with a conventional domestic electrical installation without the need for adapters.
