Overview

The SAIGON OUT M C100 lamp by FARO is a pendant luminaire designed specifically for outdoor use. It works well on covered terraces, porches, pergolas, and garden areas where stable and direct overhead lighting is needed. Its fixed anchoring system without tension cables makes it more robust than versions with tensioned cables, resulting in a safer installation when environmental conditions are not always favorable.

The body is made of aluminum with a dark grey finish, and the opaline diffuser distributes light evenly. It is an outdoor lighting proposal that combines resistant materials with a clean and straightforward design.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in the lighting sector. Its outdoor products are designed to withstand continuous use in open or semi-covered spaces, with materials selected for each installation condition.

Installation and specifications

Installing this pendant lamp requires a ceiling light point in the outdoor space. Since the anchoring is fixed and does not require tension cables, it is advisable to verify that the fixing surface is solid and in good condition before assembly. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor spaces where conditions may vary. The universal voltage of 100V–240V allows it to be used without adapters in most domestic installations. The E27 LED light source is not included and must be purchased separately.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminum body with a slightly damp cloth. The opaline diffuser can be cleaned in the same way, avoiding abrasive products that may alter its finish. It is not recommended to use pressurized water directly on the luminaire. Before any cleaning or bulb replacement operation, make sure the lamp is disconnected from the power supply.

Design and use

The SAIGON OUT M C100 is an outdoor pendant lamp with a design that is recognizable at first glance. Its dark grey aluminum body gives it a solid and present appearance, without being overdone. The circular PEMD diffuser with an opal finish distributes light downward in a soft manner, without creating high-intensity spots that are uncomfortable to the eye. The result is warm and functional outdoor lighting, suitable both for outdoor dining and for illuminating the entrance to a home.

The total diameter of 1050 mm makes it a piece with a real presence in the space. It does not go unnoticed. On a wide terrace or a porch with a fairly high ceiling, this pendant lamp takes its place naturally, without needing to add more lights to achieve adequate coverage. In an interior courtyard or under a pergola, it can serve as a central lighting point that visually organizes the space around it.

The direct ceiling fixing system without tension cables is one of the most practical aspects of this model. Pendant lamps with tensioned cables can move in the wind or accumulate tension at the anchor points over time. This fixed design avoids that problem, making it especially suitable for outdoors where wind is common or where the installation must remain stable for years without frequent checks.

Aluminum is a material that withstands outdoor exposure well. It does not rust like iron and maintains its finish under normal conditions of use. The dark grey color of the body integrates easily with stone facades, treated wood, exposed concrete, or ceramic. It works equally well in a rustic-style home with stone walls as in a more contemporary construction with clean lines. That versatility means it fits into very different renovation projects without needing to look for a specific decorative style.

In gardens with covered areas, this luminaire can be combined with other floor lights or wall lights to create a balanced distribution. It is not a solar or battery-powered lamp, so it requires an electrical connection, but that also means it offers constant lighting without variations depending on the season or previous hours of sunlight.

For spaces such as an entrance porch or an outdoor gallery, the SAIGON OUT M C100 brings a presence that makes the space feel more complete and carefully considered. It is not a discreet lamp, but nor is it excessive. It is just the right size to make it clear that the outdoor space has been thoughtfully designed.

Questions and answers

Why does this pendant lamp model not use tension cables for anchoring?

The direct ceiling fixing design without tension cables makes the structure more stable against wind and the adverse conditions typical of outdoor environments. Tension cables can cause movement or accumulate tension over time, something that this fixed anchoring system avoids from the outset.

What type of bulb does this outdoor lamp accept and is it included?

It accepts an E27 LED base bulb with a maximum power of 15W. The light source is not included in the product and must be purchased separately before installation.

Is the PEMD diffuser suitable for outdoor use with humidity or rain?

The diffuser is made of PEMD, a material designed for outdoor environments. The luminaire is designed to be installed in spaces such as terraces or porches where there may be ambient humidity, although it is always recommended to install it in areas with overhead coverage to extend its service life.
