Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks, and open-air walkways. With a height of 3.7 metres, it covers large spaces evenly without the need to combine it with other light points. Its 360º distribution design makes the floor lamp project light equally in all directions, which is useful when the lighting needs to reach an extensive area around the installation point.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that withstand outdoor conditions well: rain, dust, and temperature changes. The IP65 rating ensures that neither water nor solid particles compromise the equipment's operation. The IK10 index adds mechanical protection against impacts, which is appreciated in transit areas or public spaces.

FARO is a brand with a track record in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products combine durability with a careful finish, designed to integrate into environments that demand long-term reliability.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground via anchoring at the base. Before installing it, verify that the ground is level and that the electrical wiring reaches the intended point. The electrical connection must be carried out by a certified installer, as this is an outdoor luminaire connected to the mains. The 100V–240V voltage range allows its use with different types of electrical installation without additional adapters.

Use and maintenance. To clean the body of the floor lamp, use a damp cloth with water and, if necessary, a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Do not direct pressurised water jets directly onto the base where the wiring is connected. Periodically check that the ground anchors are in good condition.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection by FARO was created as a technical lighting proposal for outdoor use. Each piece in the collection follows the same construction criteria: aluminium combined with polycarbonate, IP65 protection, and IK10 mechanical resistance. The result is a floor lamp that functions under real outdoor use conditions, without relying on shelters or protected areas.

At 3.7 metres in height, the floor lamp reaches a position that allows light to be distributed naturally over the surrounding area. The 360º emission option is key here: there are no shadow zones around the pole, which facilitates both orientation and the sense of safety in the space. This feature makes it a suitable option for garden paths, plot entrances, roundabouts, or any area where lighting must cover a complete perimeter.

The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, close to the tone of a candle or a traditional incandescent lamp. This range does not generate the coldness associated with purely functional lighting. In a garden or a patio, a floor lamp with this temperature helps create an atmosphere where one feels comfortable, without the light being conspicuous or intrusive.

The integrated COB LED light source offers compact and efficient emission. As it is included in the product, there is no need to source a compatible module separately. The floor lamp arrives ready to connect, which simplifies the start-up process.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser lets light through without filtering it excessively. The material resists discolouration over time, something common in plastic diffusers exposed to sunlight for extended periods. The dark grey body integrates well into natural environments: it does not stand out excessively during the day, and at night it fades into the background against the light it emits.

In private spaces, such as residential gardens or home entrances, this outdoor floor lamp provides a scale that balances well with tall vegetation or the walls of an enclosure. In larger environments, such as parks or landscaped areas for communal use, it can be installed in groups maintaining regular distances to ensure continuous lighting without gaps.

The finish and materials are also compatible with more demanding use environments: high-traffic areas, children's areas, or access points where the floor lamp may receive accidental impacts. The IK10 index covers that risk without the need to add additional protection.

Questions and answers

Does the floor lamp include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The floor lamp includes a 38 W COB LED light source. No additional module needs to be purchased for it to function.

What level of protection does it offer against rain and dust?

It has IP65 protection, meaning it is completely sealed against dust and protected against water jets. It is suitable for outdoor installation without the need for additional cover.

Does the light emission cover the entire surroundings or only one direction?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions around the pole, with no shadow zones. This makes it especially useful in open spaces where lighting must cover a complete area.
