Overview

The SCREEN floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable, uniform and long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.7 metres and a 360-degree light distribution, it covers the surrounding area in a balanced way, without shadowed zones.

The CASAMBI version allows you to control the floor lamp from a mobile application, simplifying lighting management without the need to physically interact with the switch. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light that suits the evening and night-time hours in the garden.

FARO is a company with decades of experience in lighting. Their outdoor products combine resistant materials with a clean design, built to last under real-world conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground. Before installing it, make sure the base is level and that the electrical wiring reaches the anchoring point. As this is an outdoor luminaire, the wiring must be protected and comply with local electrical regulations. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Use and maintenance. The aluminium body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser do not require complex maintenance. Simply clean the surface with a damp cloth and a mild detergent when dust or dirt accumulates. Do not use abrasive products or solvents. Periodically check the anchoring points to ensure the floor lamp remains firmly in position.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection addresses a specific need: illuminating outdoor spaces with a technical solution that does not rely on recharging, solar panels or batteries. The floor lamp operates on a conventional 220V–240V electrical connection, guaranteeing continuous and predictable operation regardless of weather conditions or the amount of sunlight available during the day.

The body is made of aluminium with a dark grey finish. It is a material that withstands temperature changes and prolonged outdoor exposure well. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without altering its quality, and the 360-degree distribution option means the floor lamp illuminates in all directions from the central pole. This makes it particularly useful in gardens where lighting must reach both pathways and nearby planted areas.

The IK10 certification indicates that the body withstands impacts without deforming or cracking. The IP65 protection rating ensures that neither dust nor projected water affects the internal operation. These characteristics make the floor lamp suitable for permanent outdoor installations, without the need to remove it during periods of rain or wind.

The 38 W COB LED light source emits a colour temperature of 3000K. That warm range is perceived as the most natural at nightfall, without the cold and clinical effect produced by lights with a higher colour temperature. In a garden or park, that warmth makes the space feel more welcoming when night falls.

The CASAMBI version adds a layer of control that goes beyond simple on and off switching. The system allows schedules to be programmed, intensity to be adjusted and multiple luminaires to be managed from the same application. For those with large gardens with several light points, this considerably simplifies the management of outdoor lighting.

The floor lamp has a height of 3.7 metres, placing it at an appropriate scale for medium-sized private gardens and parks. It is not as tall as public street lighting, but tall enough to project light over a reasonable distance around the installation point. The square-section pole of 160 mm gives it a discreet presence in the environment, without the pole competing visually with the garden's elements.

In terms of combining with other luminaires, the SCREEN collection offers visual coherence when several units are installed in the same space. It also integrates well with wall lights or outdoor spotlights of a modern line, especially in gardens with contemporary design or natural materials such as stone and wood.

Questions and answers

What does 360º light distribution mean in this floor lamp?

The 360º option distributes light symmetrically in all directions around the pole. This means there is no side that is more illuminated than another, which is useful when the floor lamp is placed in the centre of a pathway or in an open area of the garden where the lighting must reach the entire surrounding area equally.

Is the CASAMBI version compatible with other home automation devices?

CASAMBI is a wireless control system that operates via Bluetooth and has its own application. Compatibility with other home automation systems depends on the platform used at home. It is advisable to verify this compatibility before purchase if a home automation system is already installed.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient for areas with frequent rainfall?

Yes. IP65 guarantees full protection against dust and against water projected from any direction. The floor lamp is designed for permanent outdoor installation and does not require additional protection under normal rainfall conditions.
