Overview

The FARO RUSH street light is an outdoor luminaire designed for open spaces such as gardens, parks and pedestrian areas. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers a wide surface area and provides uniform lighting without dark spots. The asymmetric 180-degree distribution option allows the light to be directed where it is needed most, which is useful when the pole is near a plot boundary or alongside a side path.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, two materials that combine mechanical strength with low weight. The IK10 protection rating means it withstands strong impacts without deforming, and the IP65 rating ensures that neither rain nor dust affects internal operation. It is a street light designed to remain outdoors all year round, with no need to remove it during rainy or cold seasons.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its outdoor products are designed for long-lasting installations, both in residential environments and public spaces.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This street light is fixed directly to the ground, so it requires a concrete foundation or a suitable base before installation. It is recommended that the electrical cabling be buried and protected with a corrugated conduit before placing the pole. The connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it operates at mains voltage of 220V–240V. Before installing, check that the anchoring point is level so that the lantern is completely vertical.

Use and maintenance. To clean the body and the diffuser, use a damp cloth with water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the transparent polycarbonate. Do not direct pressurised water jets directly onto the seals, although the IP65 rating provides good protection against conventional rain. Periodically check the ground anchoring points to ensure the pole remains secure, especially after strong winds.

Design and use

The RUSH collection is conceived as a technical outdoor lighting solution, where durability and functionality carry more weight than ornamentation. Even so, the dark grey design with transparent diffuser gives the ensemble a clean and restrained presence, fitting well in both single-family home gardens and landscaped areas for collective use.

The aluminium body provides structural stability to the pole over time. Aluminium does not rust like conventional steel, which is a direct advantage in outdoor installations exposed to humidity. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering it excessively, so the lantern clearly illuminates the surrounding area. The colour temperature of 4000K sits in a neutral range, neither very warm nor very cold, which is suitable for walkways, paths or open-air seating areas.

The integrated COB LED light source consumes 38W, sufficient to cover a generous area in a garden or access courtyard. As it uses LED technology, maintenance is minimal: bulbs do not need to be replaced frequently, and consumption remains stable throughout the product's entire lifespan. The lamp is included from the factory, so there is no need to source it separately or worry about compatibility.

The CASAMBI version allows this street light to be integrated into a wireless control system. This means that the intensity can be adjusted or on/off schedules can be programmed from an app, without the need to install an additional control panel. For gardens with multiple lighting points, this greatly simplifies management from a single device.

The 180-degree asymmetric distribution is useful in specific situations: when the lantern is at the edge of a path, next to a fence or on the boundary of a plot, there is no point in illuminating the side where there is no thoroughfare. The 180-degree option concentrates the light towards the useful area and avoids wasting power in directions where it is not needed.

In terms of visual integration, the dark grey finish pairs well with stone paving, gravel, treated wood or concrete surfaces. The straight, unadorned design does not compete with vegetation or other garden elements — it simply fulfils its function without drawing more attention than necessary. On a private access road or in a garden of some extent, several poles from the same RUSH collection create a coherent and orderly line of lighting.

Questions and answers

What does IP65 protection mean for this street light?

The IP65 rating indicates that the luminaire is fully protected against dust and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for permanent outdoor installation, with no need to protect it during rainy periods.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 38W COB LED lamp is included from the factory. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or check compatibility before installation.

What does IK10 impact resistance mean in everyday use?

IK10 is the maximum level of mechanical protection according to European standards. It means that the diffuser and body can withstand impacts equivalent to 20 joules without breaking or deforming, which is especially useful in high-traffic areas or spaces with physical activity such as parks or frequently used gardens.
