Overview

The RUSH floor lamp by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open spaces where stable and long-lasting light is needed. With a height of 3.1 metres, it covers a wide area without the need to install multiple lighting points. The 180-degree asymmetric distribution directs light where it is needed most, without wasting it in the opposite direction.

The body is made of aluminium and polycarbonate, materials that withstand outdoor conditions well over time. The IP65 protection ensures that rain and dust do not affect the lantern's performance. The IK10 impact resistance means it withstands physical impacts that would cause visible damage to other types of floor lamps.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its products are designed to work both in residential installations and in larger-scale projects.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This floor lamp is fixed directly to the ground, so before installing it, make sure the base is firm and level. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional, as this is an outdoor luminaire connected to the 220V–240V mains. It is recommended that the wiring be protected underground with the appropriate corrugated conduit for outdoor installations. Checking the cable route beforehand avoids unexpected issues during the process.

Use and maintenance. The dark grey aluminium surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a neutral detergent. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser should be cleaned regularly to maintain good light transmission. Although the IP65 protection guards against rain, it is recommended to periodically check the anchor points to ensure the floor lamp remains stable.

Design and use

The RUSH collection by FARO was created as a solution for outdoor spaces that need technical lighting without sacrificing a neat and contemporary appearance. This garden floor lamp combines aluminium and polycarbonate in a structure that adds no visual weight to the surroundings. The dark grey finish integrates well in both private gardens and communal areas of residential developments or parks.

The COB-type LED module provides concentrated and uniform light. The 3000K colour temperature creates a warm atmosphere that is not harsh on the eyes, something that is especially appreciated when the floor lamp has been on for several hours in a row. This type of warm light is what many outdoor designers prefer for walkways or rest areas, as it does not create a clinical or cold feeling.

The 180-degree distribution option is one of the most practical aspects of this model. Instead of projecting light in all directions, it concentrates it in a semicircle. This is useful when the floor lamp is located next to a wall, a fence or the boundary of a property. This way, the light falls exactly where it is needed, without disturbing the neighbouring property or illuminating a wall that serves no purpose.

At 3.1 metres in height, this outdoor floor lamp reaches a distance that allows it to cover a generous radius from a single point. In a medium-sized garden, a few units are sufficient to achieve continuous lighting along pathways or around landscaped areas. It also works well at entrance accesses, where visibility is needed without installing an additional wall lamp.

IK10 resistance is the highest level within the classification for protection against mechanical impacts. In a public space or a garden with frequent activity, this makes a difference compared to a conventional lamp. The polycarbonate diffuser does not chip or break easily, reducing the need for replacement.

The DALI version of this lantern allows integration into centrally managed lighting control systems. This makes it easy to adjust the light intensity according to the time of day or the specific needs of the space, without having to act on each lighting point separately.

In terms of aesthetic compatibility, the sober and linear design of the RUSH collection adapts well to modern environments. It works equally well alongside dense vegetation as in more open spaces with stone or wooden paving. The dark grey colour of the body does not compete with the surroundings, but instead fades into the background and lets the light take centre stage.
