Overview

The FARO PUK projector is an outdoor luminaire designed to highlight architectural elements: facades, walls, entrances, gardens, and any space where light needs to be directed with precision. Its simplified design makes it easy to integrate without drawing too much attention to itself. The spotlight works discreetly, letting the illuminated surface take center stage.

What sets this projector apart is its built-in goniometer, which allows the tilt angle to be adjusted with precision. There is no need to improvise or force the position. It is also prepared for saline environments, making it suitable for installations near the sea or in areas with demanding climatic conditions.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products combine functionality and aesthetics, with special attention to outdoor spaces where durability and visual performance are priorities.

Installation and specifications

Preparation for installation and mounting. This spotlight is fixed directly to the wall using the corresponding anchors. Before installing, it is advisable to verify that the surface is solid and that the available electrical connection is 24VDC, as the projector does not work with standard mains voltage. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. The integrated goniometer allows the beam to be oriented once the body is fixed, without needing to move the mounting point.

Use and maintenance. The black-finished aluminum body requires no special care, but it is advisable to clean the glass diffuser periodically with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust or dirt from affecting light quality. Do not use abrasive products or aggressive liquids on the finish. In coastal areas, regularly check for any accumulation of salt on the joints or on the surface of the body.

Design and use

The PUK projector is a compact outdoor spotlight that works with COB LED technology, allowing it to concentrate light into a narrow 20° beam with great uniformity. That reduced aperture is ideal when you want to illuminate a specific detail: a column, the trunk of a tree in the garden, a texture on the facade, or a specific area of the ground in front of the entrance. It does not scatter light — it directs it.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that withstands prolonged outdoor exposure well and that, in a black finish, integrates effortlessly into dark facades, stone walls, or vegetation. The transparent glass diffuser does not alter the color of the light or perceptibly reduce its intensity. The 2700K color temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a flame, which favors relaxed atmospheres and enhances natural materials such as wood, stone, or brick.

With only 4W of power, this projector is efficient for the continuous use that outdoor installations typically require. It operates at 24VDC, which means working with a transformer or low-voltage power supply. This is common in architectural lighting projects where greater safety and control over the circuit is sought.

The built-in goniometer is one of the most practical features of this spotlight. It allows the beam orientation to be changed after installation, which is useful when the exact position of the light point is not easy to calculate before switching on the projector. It adjusts without additional tools and holds its position firmly.

The PUK family is also designed for use on patios, terraces, or any outdoor area where accent lighting is desired. The projector accepts various accessories that expand its possibilities: the visor (ref. 75300V) reduces lateral glare and better controls the beam in open spaces; the honeycomb grid (ref. 75300H) adds additional directional control; the stake (ref. 75300S) allows the spotlight to be driven into the ground, for example to illuminate plants or borders; and the tree-fixing accessory (ref. 75300F) turns it into an adjustable reflector on trunks or branches.

This combination of a solid body, precise optics, and accessory system means that the same projector can resolve very different situations. A single spotlight model can cover both the illumination of a facade and accent lighting on garden vegetation or the ground of an entrance, simply by changing the accessory.

For projects where the installation is close to the sea or in areas with high humidity, the projector's suitability for saline environments is an important factor. Many outdoor luminaires are not prepared for these conditions, which leads to corrosion problems in a short time. The PUK design takes this scenario into account from the outset.

The weight of 0.33 kg makes handling easy during mounting and does not place a significant load on the wall or support.

Questions and answers

Does this projector need a special transformer to work?

Yes. The PUK spotlight operates at 24VDC, so it requires a transformer or low-voltage power supply. It cannot be connected directly to the domestic electrical mains at 220V. It is advisable to consult a qualified installer to select the appropriate transformer based on the number of spotlights in the circuit.

Does the goniometer allow the angle to be adjusted after the projector is installed?

Yes. The built-in goniometer is designed precisely for that purpose: it allows the beam to be reoriented once the body is already fixed to the wall, without needing to remove the projector or modify the mounting point.

Are accessories such as the stake or tree-fixing bracket sold separately?

Yes, the accessories are optional and are purchased separately. The PUK family is compatible with the visor (ref. 75300V), the honeycomb grid (ref. 75300H), the ground stake (ref. 75300S), and the tree-fixing accessory (ref. 75300F).
