Overview

The brightest of the white GU10 bulbs in the FARO range we stock: 705 lm from 8 W, with a wide 60° beam that spreads the light over a larger area.

The light is warm white at 2700K. A wide beam and a high output make it a general-purpose spotlight bulb for rooms lit mainly by downlights.

Installation and specifications

The GU10 cap twists and locks into the holder and works on mains voltage without a transformer. This bulb accepts 100–240 V, so UK mains is well within its range. Size is standard for GU10: 50 mm in diameter and 54 mm deep.

Design and use

It suits kitchens, hallways and living rooms where downlights do most of the work. The 60° beam overlaps well between fittings spaced about a metre apart and avoids the dark gaps that narrow spots can leave.

Questions and answers

When should I pick this one over a narrower beam?

Pick the 60° beam for even room lighting and a narrower beam when you want to highlight one object or surface.

Is it dimmable?

Faro does not list this bulb as dimmable, so it should be used with a normal switch.

Does it need a transformer?

No. GU10 bulbs connect straight to the mains supply.
