Overview

VENICE is a floor lamp designed by Adolfo Abejón for FARO. It fits well in a living room, a bedroom, or any corner where you want to create a warm and adjustable light source. Its rotating arm allows you to move the light closer or farther depending on what you need at any given moment: reading, illuminating a specific corner, or simply adding ambiance to the room.

The black shade is handmade in ceramic at a workshop in Barcelona. This gives it a character of its own that is not easy to find in a standard lamp. The satin black finish of the steel body complements that artisanal detail without competing with it.

FARO has been developing interior luminaires for decades with a balance between design and functionality. VENICE is a good example of that line: without excess, with carefully chosen materials and a result that does not lose relevance over time.

Installation and specifications

Installing this floor lamp requires no special tools or any intervention in the ceiling or wall. It is placed directly on the floor and plugged into a standard outlet. Before turning it on, make sure the E27 LED bulb is correctly installed, as it is not included in the package. Check that the voltage of your installation is within the indicated range.

The ceramic shade should be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The satin black steel body is cleaned in the same way. Do not move the lamp with the bulb on. Keep out of reach of young children when in use.

Design and use

The VENICE lamp has a height of 1480 mm, which places it at a comfortable proportion next to a sofa or armchair. It is neither excessively tall nor too short. The adjustable arm adds a layer of functionality that is appreciated in day-to-day use: you can direct the light toward a book, toward a specific area of the living room, or simply adjust it according to the time of day.

The body is made of steel with a satin black finish. It is a material that holds up well over time without losing presence. The satin black does not reflect excessively, which allows the lamp to blend in without drawing too much attention to itself. It works well in interiors with dark furniture, but also contrasts naturally with light-colored walls or wood.

The shade is the most distinctive element of this floor lamp. It is handmade in ceramic at a workshop in Barcelona. This means that each unit has small variations inherent to the artisanal process. This is not a defect — it is part of what makes this light have something that mass-produced pieces cannot replicate. The black ceramic absorbs part of the light and distributes it in a way that is not as direct as a glass or fabric shade. The result is a more enveloping illumination, suitable for moments of rest.

In a living room, this lamp can be placed next to the sofa to create a light source independent of the ceiling. In a bedroom, it works well in the reading corner or next to the bedside table, depending on the available space. In a larger room, it can be used to visually define a specific area, such as a desk or a reading chair.

In spaces such as a dining room, a floor lamp next to a sideboard or in a corner of the room adds warmth without the need to install anything in the ceiling. In a wide hallway, it can mark the path with a warm light source that requires no construction work. Although it is not a lamp designed for the bathroom or kitchen, in hallways connecting those rooms it can serve a decorative and functional purpose at the same time.

The design of VENICE is timeless. It does not respond to a specific trend, which means it will remain coherent with its surroundings even if the rest of the furniture changes. It combines well with wood finishes, with dark or neutral upholstery, and with wooden or stone floors. It is also compatible with a more modern style, where clean lines and industrial materials take center stage.

It is available in several finishes: cobalt blue, pink, white, and striped, in addition to black. Each variant maintains the same structure and the same artisanal manufacturing process. Choosing one or another depends on the environment where it will be placed and the effect you want to achieve with the lighting.

Questions and answers

Does the arm of the VENICE lamp allow the light to be directed in different directions?

Yes. The arm is rotating and allows you to move the light source closer or farther depending on what you need at any given moment. It can be adjusted without tools.

Is the ceramic shade the same in all units or can it vary?

Since it is handmade at a workshop in Barcelona, each shade may present small differences in texture or finish. These are variations inherent to the artisanal process and are part of the identity of the product.

Is the E27 LED bulb included with the floor lamp?

No. The bulb is not included in the package. It is necessary to purchase separately an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W.
