Overview

A well-chosen floor lamp can completely transform the atmosphere of a room. This FARO model combines a steel structure with a matte black finish and a fabric shade, giving it a contemporary character without feeling overdone. It works well in a living room, a bedroom, or even a wide hallway where a warm, direct light source is needed.

The lamp was designed by Estudi Ribaudí, a design studio with a clear vision of the balance between form and function. FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting, and this model reflects their way of working well: solid materials, clean lines, and a result that fits different types of spaces without demanding too much attention.

The lamp stand rests directly on the floor, with no need for drilling or special tools to install it. It is a practical solution for those renovating their home who want to add light without any construction work.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation: as a floor lamp, installation requires no intervention in the ceiling or walls. Simply place it in the chosen location, plug it into a standard power outlet, and add an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included. The compatible voltage ranges from 100 V to 240 V, so it works with any standard domestic electrical installation. Before plugging it in, make sure the cable is not placed in areas where it could be stepped on or become tangled.

Use and care: the fabric shade may accumulate dust over time. To clean it, simply use a dry cloth or a soft brush. The matte black steel structure can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth and should be dried immediately to avoid marks. Abrasive products and solvents are not recommended. Always turn off the lamp before cleaning it or changing the bulb.

Design and use

The FARO floor lamp stands 1675 mm tall, making it a visible piece in any room. It does not go unnoticed, but it does not compete with the rest of the furniture either. Its matte black steel structure gives it stability and a clean look that adapts well to modern, Nordic, or contemporary interiors.

The fabric shade softens the light and distributes the ambiance evenly around the installation point. In a living room, this translates into warm lighting that complements the main ceiling light. In a bedroom, it can serve as a reading light or as a secondary light source that avoids strong contrast with the darkness of the rest of the room. In a hallway with sufficient width, it adds warmth to a space that is normally lit only with wall lights or ceiling fixtures.

The design by Estudi Ribaudí favors restraint. There are no unnecessary ornaments. The combination of steel and fabric is classic in quality floor lamps, but here it is executed with a contemporary sensibility that sets it apart from more traditional or vintage models. The base measures 360 x 360 mm, giving it a compact footprint on the floor and good stability for its height.

This type of lamp fits especially well next to a sofa or reading armchair, in the corner of a dining room, or beside a desk. In spaces such as the bathroom or kitchen, where installing a floor lamp is not common for reasons of space and safety, this model is not the most suitable option. But in any room where you want to create a more refined atmosphere without resorting to electrical installations, this piece meets the need well.

The matte black finish holds up well against fingerprints and the usual marks of everyday use. Steel is not a fragile material, and this is evident in the weight of the unit: 4.5 kg that convey solidity without making the lamp difficult to move when you need to rearrange the space. If at any point you decide to change the layout of the living room or bedroom, you can reposition it effortlessly.

Compatibility with E27 LED bulbs allows you to choose the color temperature that best suits the atmosphere you are looking for. A warmer light around 2700 K produces a cozy result. A more neutral light may be useful if the lamp is also used for reading or working. The choice of bulb is free, always within the 15 W limit indicated by the manufacturer.

Questions and answers

Does the lamp need to be fixed to the wall or ceiling to remain stable?

No. It is a floor lamp that rests directly on the floor. It does not require any type of anchoring. Its 360 x 360 mm base and a weight of 4.5 kg provide the stability needed for normal domestic use.

What type of bulb does it require and is it included in the package?

It uses an E27 LED base bulb of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. The lamp is compatible with voltages between 100 V and 240 V.

Is the matte black finish on the steel structure resistant to daily use?

Yes. The matte black finish on steel handles regular contact well and does not show fingerprints easily. To keep it in good condition, simply wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it immediately.
