Overview

The DOMINICA floor lamp by FARO is a floor luminaire designed for those looking for a light source with its own character. Its design is inspired by the aesthetic movement that developed in Chicago between 1900 and 1940, a period marked by clean lines, geometric shapes, and an industrial aesthetic that has not lost its relevance over time. The result is a lamp that combines structure and elegance without the need for ornamentation.

The beige color of the main body gives it a warm, neutral appearance, while the black finish adds contrast and visual firmness. This combination makes it a good fit in a living room, bedroom, dining room, or even a wide hallway where a focal point of light is desired.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. It designs its collections from its own studio, with attention to detail and quality materials. The DOMINICA family is part of its Faro Lab line, oriented toward proposals with a defined aesthetic identity.

Installation and specifications

This floor lamp is placed directly on the floor, with no tools or fixed electrical installation required. Simply plug it into a standard outlet. The universal voltage between 100V and 240V allows it to be used without adapters in any country. The E27 LED bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have one ready before assembling the lamp. It is recommended not to exceed 15 W of power to protect the lamp holder and keep consumption low.

For cleaning, a dry or slightly damp cloth on the steel surfaces is sufficient. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish or alter the beige color of the body should not be used. Before cleaning or changing the bulb, always disconnect the lamp from the power supply.

Design and use

The DOMINICA is a floor lamp with a clear visual presence. Its height of 1500 mm makes it a piece that occupies space naturally, without being excessive. The depth of 416 mm allows it to be placed next to an armchair, behind a sofa, or in a corner of the bedroom without obstructing foot traffic.

The body is made of steel, a material that provides stability and durability to the structure. The net weight of 1.67 kg makes it easy to move from one room to another if the layout changes. It does not require any type of anchoring to the floor or wall, which greatly simplifies its use in rentals or in interiors where no construction work is desired.

The geometric line design connects with the industrial style without becoming overly ornate. The combination of beige and black is one of those choices that works well with different finishes: light wood, dark wood, concrete, fabric, or metal. This allows it to be integrated into a Nordic-style living room, a more contemporary dining room, or a bedroom with natural wood furniture.

In the living room, a floor lamp like this can complement the main lighting and create more intimate light zones for reading or relaxing. In the dining room, placed to one side, it adds warmth without interfering with the table lighting. In the bedroom, it conveniently replaces the bedside table with a lamp, especially when space is limited.

It also works well in a long hallway or an entryway, where a floor lamp provides light and character without requiring additional electrical installation. The bathroom is outside the recommended spaces for this luminaire, as it is not designed for damp environments.

The E27 LED light source allows you to choose the color temperature according to the desired ambiance: warm light for rest areas, neutral light for work or reading spaces. Accepting up to 15 W, it is compatible with the majority of LED bulbs on the market with that fitting.

The vintage and industrial style that characterizes the DOMINICA family pairs especially well with wooden furniture, pieces with metallic finishes, or textiles in earth tones. It can also be used as a counterpoint in more minimalist interiors, where a single piece with character defines the entire room.

Overall, it is a lamp designed for those who want functional lighting with an aesthetic that does not go unnoticed. Modern in its conception, with clear historical references and a solid construction that is apparent from the very first moment.

Questions and answers

Does the DOMINICA floor lamp require fixed electrical installation or is plugging it in sufficient?

Plugging it into a standard outlet is sufficient. It does not require fixed installation or the intervention of an electrician. The cable is included with the lamp and you only need to place it on the floor and plug it in.

What type of bulb needs to be purchased for this lamp and what is the maximum accepted wattage?

It requires a bulb with an E27 fitting, which is the most common on the market. The maximum recommended power is 15 W. The bulb is not included with the lamp, so it must be purchased separately.

Can the steel body with black finish deteriorate with everyday use?

Steel is a material resistant to daily use. To keep the black finish in good condition, simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or those containing solvents that could affect the finish over time should be avoided.
