Overview

The TECTO lamp is a surface-mounted luminaire that attaches directly to the ceiling without cables or additional structures. Its compact profile makes it suitable for spaces where the ceiling is not very high, and where clean, uniform light is needed without the fixture taking up too much visual space. It works well in bedrooms, kitchens, hallways, or any area of daily use.

The design of this lamp does not aim to go unnoticed. The geometric shape and matte white finish give it a contemporary character that fits both residential and commercial spaces. It is not a background lamp — it is an element that forms part of the style of the space.

FARO is a manufacturer specializing in lighting with a presence in residential and commercial projects. Their products combine design criteria with attention to detail in materials and finishes.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp on the ceiling, make sure the ceiling electrical box is accessible and properly anchored. As a surface-mounted luminaire, it screws directly onto the base without the need for a suspended structure. Verify that the wiring is switched off before making any connections. Please note that the GU10 LED bulb is not included, so you must purchase it separately before installation.

To clean the aluminum body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. Do not handle the light source while the lamp is connected to the power supply. This luminaire is designed for indoor use only and should not be exposed to extreme humidity or outdoor conditions.

Design and use

The TECTO ceiling light has an aluminum body with a matte white finish. Aluminum is a material that holds its shape well over time, does not deform with the typical temperature changes found indoors, and its surface does not accumulate dirt easily. The matte white color, for its part, integrates seamlessly with white or neutral-toned ceilings, although it can also work as a contrast on dark-colored walls or ceilings.

The dimensions of this lamp are compact: 95 mm in height and 82 mm on each side of the base. It is a ceiling fixture that does not impose itself on the space, but has enough presence for its design to be visible. It is not one of those lights that blends into the ceiling. It has a defined silhouette that adds a point of visual interest without overloading the room.

In the kitchen, this type of luminaire works very well above work areas or countertops. Modern surface-mounted lights allow light to be concentrated without the need to install hanging structures that might get in the way. In a small or medium-sized dining room, a ceiling fixture with these characteristics may be sufficient if the space does not require very intense lighting. For larger dining rooms, it can be combined with other lamps from the same line or in similar tones.

In the bedroom, the TECTO lamp offers a discreet solution. Bedrooms do not always need a powerful light source; with a low color temperature GU10 LED, a warm and relaxed atmosphere can be achieved. In smaller bedrooms, a ceiling fixture avoids the lamp reducing visual space, something that can occur with a hanging or floor lamp.

The contemporary style of this luminaire makes it compatible with interiors featuring clean lines. It works with Scandinavian-design furniture, industrial finishes, or minimalist décor. In commercial spaces, such as clothing stores, workspaces, or small offices, modern ceiling fixtures provide a polished look without requiring complex installations. The fact that it is compatible with LED technology makes managing energy consumption easier, something that has a real impact in a space with multiple light points.

The modern home tends to blend functionality and aesthetics. This lamp responds to that trend: it is not just a light point, it is an element that adds to the whole. Lights that integrate into the design of a space contribute visual coherence. When the different elements of a room share the same aesthetic language, the result feels more ordered and livable.

The internal connection bar allows for a clean installation, with no visible cables. The unit sits flush against the ceiling in an orderly manner. This is especially useful in spaces where the electrical box is in a central position and you want the lamp to be well aligned with the rest of the furniture or other light points. Modern ceiling luminaire designs like TECTO allow that level of control over the final result without the need for additional work.

Regarding voltage compatibility, the lamp accepts between 100 V and 240 V, making it suitable for different markets and standard residential electrical configurations.

Questions and answers

Is this lamp suitable for outdoor installation or humid areas such as bathrooms?

No. The TECTO model is designed exclusively for use in dry indoor environments. It does not have protection against humidity or splashing, so it must not be installed outdoors or in bathrooms.

What type of bulb does it require and what is the maximum permitted wattage?

It uses a GU10 base bulb in LED format. The maximum permitted wattage is 8 W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

Can the aluminum body be painted or treated with a different finish?

It is not recommended. The body has a factory-applied matte white finish on aluminum. Any subsequent treatment may affect the appearance and integrity of the original finish.
