Overview

The TURA beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate paths, accesses, garden borders or home entrances. Its compact format and dark grey finish make it a good fit in both contemporary spaces and more neutral environments, without drawing too much attention during the day while fulfilling its function when night falls.

It is installed directly in the ground, making it a practical option for marking outdoor areas without the need for additional structures. The warm light it emits creates a calm and pleasant atmosphere, ideal for walking through a garden or accessing the home without the need for more aggressive lighting.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in lighting, both for interior and exterior use. Their products combine functionality and aesthetic sensibility, and are designed to last under real-world conditions.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp correctly, it is important to prepare the ground before placing it. As it is a ground-mounted beacon, it is recommended to verify that the surface is level and firm. The electrical wiring must run through a protected conduit underground to the connection point. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to hire an electrician. Check that the mains voltage is compatible with the 220V-240V required by the lamp before connecting it.

For maintenance, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the dark grey finish. The translucent PC diffuser may accumulate dust or dirt over time; clean it gently to maintain good light distribution. Periodically check the outdoor connections to ensure there is no accumulated moisture at the cable entry points.

Design and use

The TURA beacon has a clean, vertical profile that does not distort the environment where it is placed. With a height of 1050 mm and a base of 160 x 160 mm, it is a lamp of contained size that integrates effortlessly into gardens, private accesses, patios or any outdoor area that needs ground-level lighting.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness with strength. Outdoors, this matters: aluminium does not rust like iron and withstands temperature changes and exposure to the elements well. The dark grey finish gives it a sober appearance that does not age easily and pairs well with stone paving, treated wood, polished concrete or outdoor ceramic.

The translucent PC diffuser allows light to be distributed evenly around the lamp. There are no concentrated bright spots or areas left in shadow right next to the beacon. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm light, similar to that of a candle or a traditional incandescent bulb, which is pleasant to the eye and does not create the cold, clinical feeling that some outdoor LED lights have.

The SMD LED light source is already included, so there is no need to purchase anything additional to start using it. This type of technology has efficient consumption and a long service life, which reduces the need for frequent checks or replacements.

As for uses, the beacon works well for marking the route of a garden path, signalling the edge of a terrace or illuminating the entrance to a home. It can also be used to define areas around a swimming pool or to provide visual continuity to a row of lanterns along a low wall. Several units placed in parallel create an orderly and uniform effect that gives character to any outdoor space without requiring major interventions.

In combination with other outdoor lighting elements, such as wall lights or hanging lanterns on pergolas, the TURA beacon acts as a low light point that complements the general lighting. The result is a space with different planes of light, which adds depth and makes the atmosphere more welcoming at nightfall.

For those renovating their garden or redesigning the access to their home, this lamp fits well with contemporary aesthetics as well as more classic styles thanks to its simple shape and neutral colour. It has no striking decorative elements, but it does not go unnoticed either. It simply fulfils its function with discretion and a good visual result.
