Overview

The SCREEN beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate paths, gardens, and green areas in a stable and long-lasting way. It is installed directly in the ground and provides uniform light all around thanks to the 360° distribution option. It is a practical solution for those looking for functional lighting without installation complications.

The body is made of aluminum combined with transparent polycarbonate, making it resistant to both impacts and weather conditions. It features IP65 protection, meaning rain and dust do not affect its performance. If you need a lamp that works well outdoors all year round, this beacon meets that requirement without reservation.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products are designed for real environments, where durability and light quality matter as much as visual appearance.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the beacon, check that the ground where it will be placed has sufficient firmness to support the 800 mm high post. As it is an outdoor luminaire with ground fixing, it is advisable to prepare the base in advance and verify that the wiring reaches the installation point. The electrical connection must always be carried out by a qualified electrician. The supported voltage range is wide, from 100V to 240V, so it works without adapters in any standard domestic installation.

For maintenance, clean the lamp body with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the dark grey finish or the transparent polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check that the connections are in good condition, especially after periods of heavy rain.

Design and use

The SCREEN collection was created as a technical outdoor lighting proposal. It is not a decorative lamp in the traditional sense, but a lighting tool designed to work well where others would not hold up. The garden, the park, the entrance to a home, or a private path are exactly the places where this beacon demonstrates its usefulness.

The aluminum body provides rigidity and impact resistance, with an IK10 rating that represents the highest level of mechanical protection. This means it can withstand accidental impacts without the structure deforming or the interior being exposed. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser complements that resistance while also allowing light to be distributed clearly.

The built-in COB LED light source emits at 2700K, a warm color temperature that feels pleasant and natural in open-air spaces. It does not produce the cold, harsh feeling sometimes associated with outdoor lighting. With a maximum power of 20W, it generates sufficient illumination for stretches of path or garden areas without being excessive.

The 360° option causes light to radiate symmetrically in all directions. This is especially useful when the beacon is placed at a central point, such as the middle of a path or an interior garden plaza. There are no shadowed areas around the post, giving a very clean sense of continuous light.

The height of 800 mm positions the light source at a distance from the ground that is practical for marking routes without dazzling those walking by. It is not so low as to be lost among vegetation, nor so high as to become a street lamp. It is the right measurement for residential use or in privately accessed parks.

The dark grey finish gives it a discreet appearance that integrates well into natural environments. It does not visually compete with the garden or other outdoor elements such as fences, pavements, or flower beds. During the day it goes unnoticed; at night it fulfills its function with ease.

This beacon can also be combined with other pieces from the same SCREEN collection to create coherent lighting along a path or perimeter. By sharing materials and finishes, the visual result is neat and uniform, without style mismatches that would break the harmony of the whole.

The fixed ground installation ensures that the lamp will not move with the wind or over time. Once correctly installed, it requires very little attention. The IP65 protects against rain and solid particles, making it suitable for variable climates without needing to be removed in winter.

Questions and answers

Does the SCREEN beacon include the bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED light source is included as standard. You do not need to purchase any additional bulb to put it into operation.

What level of protection does it offer against rain and what does IP65 mean in practice?

IP65 guarantees that the lamp is completely protected against dust and resistant to water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor use throughout the year, even in areas with frequent rainfall.

Is the 360° lighting option included in this model or is it a different variant?

This beacon corresponds to the 360° variant of the SCREEN collection, which distributes light symmetrically in all directions around the post. It does not require specific orientation during installation.
