Overview

The RUSH 800 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate paths, gardens and green areas uniformly and durably. It is installed directly in the ground and projects light in all directions thanks to its 360º option, eliminating dark areas without the need for multiple lighting points.

The aluminum body and transparent polycarbonate diffuser make it resistant to continuous outdoor use. The IP65 protection means that rain, dust and humidity do not affect its operation. The IK10 rating indicates that it withstands impacts without deforming or breaking, which is useful in high-traffic areas or public parks.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in technical and decorative lighting. Its products combine quality materials with a functional design intended for real installations, both residential and in intensively used outdoor spaces.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This lamp is fixed to the ground by anchoring at the base. Before installing it, an enabled outdoor power outlet is required, as it operates on mains voltage of 220V–240V. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in environments exposed to the elements. Make sure the power cable is protected and not exposed to foot traffic.

Use and maintenance. The dark grey aluminum surface can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be gently cleaned with water and mild soap. Although the lamp has IP65 protection, periodically check the seals and connections to ensure the closure remains watertight.

Design and use

The RUSH 800 is a floor-standing beacon designed for outdoor installations where continuous, low-maintenance lighting is required. Its height of 800 mm places it at a distance from the ground that allows good light projection without being glaring to those walking nearby. It is a common solution in private gardens, residential entrances, park pathways and landscaped communal areas.

The body is made of aluminum, a material that combines lightness with resistance to temperature changes and prolonged exposure to sun or rain. The dark grey finish integrates well in natural environments and does not draw attention during the day, allowing the lamp to fulfill its function without becoming a dominant visual element. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without filtering it excessively, ensuring good visibility on the ground.

The built-in COB LED light source offers a color temperature of 4000K, also known as neutral white. This tone is neither too warm nor too cold, and is suitable for outdoor areas where clear visibility is needed without the environment feeling cold or clinical. It is a common choice in areas shared by people of different ages, from children playing to elderly people who need precise lighting to walk safely.

The 360º lighting option causes the beacon to distribute light symmetrically around its axis. This is especially useful when installed in the center of a path or at a crossing point, as it prevents shadows from forming in any particular direction. In linear installations, such as a straight pathway, several units placed at regular intervals create visual and functional continuity with no gaps between them.

The CASAMBI version of this beacon allows it to be integrated into a wireless control system to manage lighting from a mobile device. This makes it easy to adjust on and off schedules without installing an additional external timer. In projects where different types of outdoor lights coexist, this compatibility allows control to be unified from a single point.

The IK10 rating is the highest level on the scale of protection against mechanical impacts. It means the lamp withstands considerable impacts without the housing breaking or deforming. In gardens with children or in publicly accessible parks, this feature reduces the need for repairs or replacements due to accidental damage. The IP65 protection complements this resistance by ensuring that neither pressurized water nor dust particles penetrate the interior.

As for combining with other elements in the surroundings, the RUSH 800 works well alongside wall lanterns, recessed floor luminaires or adjustable spotlights. Its neutral dark grey finish does not compete with other materials such as wood, stone or steel. In gardens with abundant vegetation, its discreet daytime presence contrasts with the clarity it provides at night, visually transforming the space as darkness falls.

Questions and answers

What does it mean that the beacon has IP65 protection?

The IP65 rating indicates that the lamp is completely protected against dust and that it resists water projected from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use throughout the year, even in areas with frequent rainfall.

Does the 360º option affect the lamp's power?

No. The 360º light distribution is a feature of the diffuser and the optical design of the beacon; it does not imply a reduction in power. The lamp continues to operate at 20 W regardless of the emission angle.

What advantage does the CASAMBI version offer over a standard beacon?

The CASAMBI version allows this lamp to be controlled wirelessly from a mobile application, without the need to install additional timers or switches. It is useful when you want to integrate garden lighting into a centralized control system.
