Overview

The RUSH 800 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate gardens, parks and open-air spaces where stable, well-distributed light is needed that can withstand environmental conditions. It is installed directly in the ground and functions as a vertical lighting point, guiding passage or marking areas within the outdoor space.

The RUSH 800 collection stands out for its construction in aluminium and transparent polycarbonate, materials that guarantee durability without adding unnecessary weight. The IP65 protection means that rain and solid bodies do not affect the lamp's operation. The IK10 impact resistance level is the highest on the standard scale, making it suitable for locations with a certain amount of foot traffic. The CASAMBI version allows the beacon to be integrated into smart lighting control systems, adjusting the switch-on from a mobile device.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in the design and manufacture of luminaires for residential and professional use. Its outdoor products combine technical materials with carefully crafted finishes, designed to last under real conditions of use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the beacon in the ground, check that the surface is firm and level. As this is a ground-mounted outdoor luminaire, the wiring must be protected and properly channelled in accordance with local electrical regulations. Since it operates at a voltage of 220V-240V, installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Verify that the connection point is protected against moisture before putting the lamp into operation.

For maintenance, clean the lamp surface with a damp cloth and a neutral product. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may scratch the polycarbonate diffuser. Periodically check the ground anchors to ensure the beacon remains stable, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The RUSH 800 lamp has a height of 800 mm, which places it within sight without being dominant in the space. Its square cross-section of 160 mm per side gives it a defined presence, with clean lines that fit well both in contemporary design gardens and in more natural settings. The dark grey finish of the body integrates easily with different surfaces: stone, gravel, grass or concrete paving.

The aluminium body provides structural solidity without adding excess weight. This material withstands temperature changes well and does not degrade with continued exposure to sun or rain. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to pass through without distortion, illuminating the surroundings with clarity. The 180-degree asymmetric lighting option makes it possible to direct light towards a specific side, which is useful when the beacon is placed next to a path, a kerb or a wall, and the light is intended to work in a particular direction rather than dispersing in a circular pattern.

The colour temperature of 4000K produces a neutral white light, similar to natural daylight. This type of lighting is functional outdoors because it allows good visibility without the light being too cold or excessively warm. For a garden or a park, it is a balanced choice: it does not distort the colours of plants or materials, and offers sufficient clarity to move around safely at night. A lantern of these characteristics, with a 20W COB LED source, generates an adequate amount of light to cover walkways or delimit areas without visually overloading the space.

The CASAMBI version of this outdoor beacon adds a layer of functionality that can be practical in installations where several lights are managed at the same time. CASAMBI is a wireless control system that works through a mobile application, with no need for additional installations. This allows several beacons to be grouped, automatic switch-ons to be programmed or intensity to be adjusted according to the time of day, all from the phone. For those installing several lighting points in a garden or patio, this option simplifies management without complicating the wiring.

As for integration with the surroundings, the RUSH 800 works well as part of a set of lights that mark a route or define perimeters in large outdoor spaces. Several beacons placed at regular intervals along a path create a clear visual guide during the night, without the need for powerful spotlights that illuminate the entire space uniformly. It can also be combined with other luminaires from the RUSH collection or with other FARO outdoor solutions to form a coherent garden lighting system.

Its IP65 rating protects it against direct rain and dust ingress, and the IK10 resistance means it can withstand impacts without the structure or diffuser suffering visible damage. This makes it suitable for areas with people movement, including children, without concern about accidental damage. It is not a rechargeable lamp nor does it have a motion sensor or solar panel, so it requires a fixed electrical connection. It is intended for permanent installations where connection to the electricity grid is available.

Questions and answers

Can the RUSH 800 beacon be placed in areas with frequent rain or direct water exposure?

Yes. The lamp has IP65 protection, which means it is designed to withstand direct rain and dust ingress. It is suitable for outdoor use under normal weather conditions.

What does the 180-degree asymmetric lighting option mean on this beacon?

The 180-degree option allows the light to be directed towards one side rather than distributed in all directions. This is useful when the beacon is installed next to a path or a wall and the illumination is to be concentrated in a specific direction.

Does the CASAMBI version require additional hardware to be installed in order to work?

No. The CASAMBI technology is integrated directly into the lamp and is controlled via a mobile application. No additional controllers or equipment are needed to connect it to the wireless management system.
