Overview

The RUSH 800 beacon by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate gardens, parks, pathways, and entrances. It is installed directly in the ground and creates a vertical light effect that defines paths without overwhelming the space. It is a practical option when looking for stable, long-lasting lighting for outdoor areas.

The body is made of aluminum and polycarbonate, giving it solidity without adding excessive weight. It features an IP65 rating, which guarantees protection against rain and solid particles. Its IK10 impact resistance makes it suitable for high-traffic areas, where the lamp may be exposed to accidental impacts.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its RUSH 800 collection is part of the technical outdoor range, designed for environments that demand durability and consistent performance.

Installation and specifications

Preparation and installation. This beacon is fixed directly in the ground via anchoring. Before installing it, it is necessary to prepare the base and plan the routing of the electrical cabling beneath the surface. The connection must be made to a 220V–240V network. It is recommended to have an electrician for cable laying and the final connection, especially in garden installations where the cabling is buried.

Use and maintenance. The aluminum surface and transparent polycarbonate diffuser can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used. Although the IP65 protection allows use in rainy conditions, it is advisable to periodically check the condition of closures and seals to maintain long-term watertightness.

Design and use

The RUSH 800 is an outdoor lamp that is part of the FARO technical collection. Its height of 800 mm makes it a medium-sized beacon, visible from a distance without being intrusive in the surroundings. It is suitable for both private gardens and public spaces such as parks or pedestrian access areas.

The dark grey body blends well with natural stone, concrete, or outdoor decking pavements. In a garden with vegetation, the beacon does not visually compete with the surroundings but rather defines them discreetly. It is also a good option for lighting terraces or access paths to the home.

The 20W COB LED light source operates at a colour temperature of 2700K, which produces a warm light. This tone is especially pleasant outdoors at night, as it is not harsh on the eyes and creates a calm atmosphere. Unlike cooler light sources, 2700K promotes a welcoming ambiance in gardens and pathways.

The 360-degree lighting option allows the lamp to distribute light symmetrically in all directions. This is useful when the beacon is placed in the centre of a path or at a point where light must reach both sides equally. The wide variant, on the other hand, allows light to be projected over a greater lateral distance, which is practical for illuminating wider strips of ground. Depending on the lighting project, one configuration or the other can be chosen.

The CASAMBI version incorporates smart control technology. This feature allows the lamp's switching on, switching off, and intensity to be managed from an application, integrating it into a dimmable lighting system without the need for additional control wiring. It is a modern solution for those who want to manage outdoor lights conveniently and flexibly.

The IK10 resistance rating indicates that the lamp can withstand impacts of up to 20 joules. In practice, this means it handles accidental knocks well, such as contact with a tool or garden machinery. The IP65 protection ensures that pressurised water and dust do not penetrate the interior, making it suitable for variable climates and exposed areas.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser distributes light evenly, without cut-offs or hotspots. The result is continuous, soft illumination that does not produce annoying glare. On a pathway flanked by several beacons, the visual effect is orderly and consistent.

The combination of aluminum and polycarbonate makes the beacon resistant without being heavy. These materials perform well against temperature changes and humidity, which is relevant for permanent outdoor installations.

Questions and answers

Does the RUSH 800 beacon include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 20W COB LED light source. It is not necessary to purchase it separately or make any prior adaptations before installation.

What is the difference between the 360° option and the wide variant of the RUSH 800 collection?

The 360° option distributes light symmetrically in all directions around the beacon. The wide variant projects light over a greater lateral distance, allowing wider areas to be covered with each lighting point.

Is IP65 protection sufficient to install this beacon in an area with frequent rainfall?

Yes. The IP65 level guarantees total protection against dust and against water projected from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor installations in areas with regular precipitation.
