Overview

The FARO beacon is an outdoor lamp designed to illuminate paths, entrances and garden areas with a clean, well-distributed lighting effect. It is installed directly in the ground and projects light upward, creating a beam that defines the space without overwhelming it. It is a solid option for those who want to improve outdoor home lighting without complicating the installation.

The body is made of dark grey aluminium, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the light and prevents direct glare. Together with the integrated LED technology, this makes the lamp operate stably and consume little energy.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. It designs and manufactures lamps for residential and professional use, with attention to detail in both visual appearance and material durability.

Installation and specifications

To install this lamp in the ground, a firm base must be prepared. It is recommended to fix it on a flat, stable surface, whether paving, compacted gravel or rammed earth. The wiring must run through protected underground conduit and be carried out by a qualified electrician. Check that the voltage available at the installation point is within the range of 100V to 240V before connecting the lamp.

To clean the aluminium body, a damp cloth without abrasive products is sufficient. The polycarbonate diffuser is cleaned in the same way. Do not use solvents or abrasive pads that could scratch the surface. Periodically check the fixing points to ensure the beacon remains firmly seated in its position.

Design and use

This outdoor beacon from FARO combines a contemporary design with materials intended to withstand outdoor use. The aluminium body in a dark grey finish gives it a discreet and modern look that integrates well in both classic-style gardens and more contemporary outdoor spaces. It is not a lamp that draws attention to itself, but rather works in the background, defining the space with light.

The 8W SMD LED light source emits a colour temperature of 3000K, which corresponds to a warm, pleasant light. This type of light is particularly suitable for rest and transit areas, where a relaxed atmosphere is sought rather than technical lighting. The lantern produces no flickering or sudden variations, making it comfortable for spaces where time is spent outdoors at night.

The polycarbonate diffuser softens the light projection and prevents intense bright spots. The result is a uniform beam that illuminates the surroundings without causing discomfort. In a garden entrance, for example, several beacons aligned along a path create a clear and attractive visual guide. On a terrace, a single lamp can mark an access point or highlight a specific area.

The height of 500 mm makes the lamp visible from ground level without being intrusive. It does not block the view or interfere with the surrounding vegetation. It is a size that works well in both open gardens and more compact patios. The square base format, with 120 mm sides, makes installation easier in defined spaces.

Thanks to the voltage range of 100V to 240V, this lamp is compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain and in most European countries. No additional transformer or special adaptation is needed. The LED light source is included, so from the very first moment the lamp is ready to use.

The aluminium used in the body is a material that combines lightness and strength. With a net weight of 2.1 kg, the beacon is easy to handle during installation, yet solid enough to remain stable outdoors. It does not deform or lose its finish easily when faced with the temperature changes typical of temperate climates.

In terms of decorative possibilities, this lamp adapts well to mixed environments: gardens with vegetation, paved entrances, poolside areas or path edges. Its clean lines and the dark grey colour of the body allow it to coexist with materials such as stone, treated wood or concrete. It does not impose a specific style, but rather adapts to the context in which it is placed.
