Installation and specifications

Before installing the beacon, make sure the placement point has access to an outdoor electrical outlet or a garden lighting circuit. As a ground lamp with direct mounting on the pavement, the wiring must run through the interior of the ground or be protected with a suitable outdoor conduit. Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified professional. If the ground is soft, it is recommended to place a base or leveling mortar so that the beacon remains perfectly vertical.

The cement body requires no special maintenance, but it should be cleaned periodically with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dirt. Avoid the use of abrasive or acidic products that may damage the surface. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth. It is not advisable to submerge any part of the lamp in water or to direct pressurized water jets directly at it.

Design and use

The GLINT beacon has an elongated and compact shape: 400 mm in height, 200 mm in length, and 100 mm in depth. These proportions make it a discreet lamp during the day and visually present when night falls. It doesn't draw excessive attention, but it doesn't go unnoticed either.

The body material is cement, in a grey finish. It is a material that ages well outdoors, that does not deform with heat or deteriorate in ordinary rain. Visually, the cement provides a matte, natural texture that contrasts with the shine of the glass diffuser. That contrast is part of the appeal of this beacon: the industrial quality of the cement against the more delicate nature of the glass.

The light source is SMD LED, included with the product. With 6.5 W of power and a color temperature of 3000K, it emits a warm light that is neither cold nor clinical. At 3000K, the tone is close to that of a candle or a traditional incandescent bulb, which makes the outdoor spaces where this lamp is installed feel welcoming. No additional lighting component needs to be sourced or purchased separately.

The bidirectional light — upward and downward — is one of the features that sets this beacon apart from other more basic options. Questions and answers

Does the GLINT beacon need to be anchored to the ground or is its own weight sufficient?

The beacon is fixed directly to the ground by its own weight. At 10 kg net, it is heavy enough to remain stable on flat surfaces without the need for additional anchoring. If the ground is uneven or soft, it is recommended to level the base with a small layer of mortar before placing it.

Is a color temperature of 3000K suitable for a garden, or does it feel too cold?

3000K is a warm temperature. It produces a tone similar to that of a classic light bulb, which favors relaxed outdoor atmospheres. It does not create that office-light sensation that temperatures above 4000K tend to give.

Does the cement body hold up well in typical weather conditions such as rain or temperature changes?

Cement is a material designed for outdoor use. It handles moisture and thermal variations typical of a moderate climate well. To keep it in good condition, simply clean it from time to time with a damp cloth and avoid aggressive products that could degrade the surface.
