Installation and specifications

The fixture is mounted directly on the ground. Before installing the lamp, it is advisable to plan the cable routing in advance, as the cement body has considerable weight — almost 14 kg — and moving it afterwards can be inconvenient. The mains connection is made through the included IP68 connector, suitable for outdoor use and moisture resistant. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional.

The cement body requires no special maintenance, but the use of abrasive or acid products that could alter the surface should be avoided. A damp cloth is sufficient for cleaning. As an outdoor luminaire, it is designed to withstand normal environmental conditions, although it should not be submerged in water or installed in areas where liquid accumulates around the base.

Design and use

The GAIA beacon uses integrated SMD LED technology, with a colour temperature of 2700K. That warm tone is what produces the effect of light that seems to emanate from within, without harshness or excessive contrast. It is not the lighting of a road lantern or a security sensor — it is a light that invites you to linger.

The visor incorporated into the design serves a specific function: it prevents direct glare. Anyone walking near the lamp or seeing it from inside the house does not receive the beam head-on. The light is perceived as a presence, not as a spotlight. This distinguishes it from many garden lights that prioritise reach over visual comfort.

The body is made of solid cement, in a natural grey finish. It is not a material treated to imitate stone — it is real cement, with its own texture and weight. This gives it a solidity that is noticeable when installing the piece and an honest integration with natural surroundings: gravel, earth, vegetation, stone paving. It also works well in more contemporary design gardens, where raw materials coexist with clean lines.

During the day, the beacon behaves as a sculptural object. The blind face — the convex cement part — is exposed to sunlight, while shadows surround the base and the lower section. There is no element that reveals it is a lamp: no visible diffuser, no grille, no plastic. Just the shape and the material.

This lamp fits well at the entrances of private homes, garden paths, pool edges or outdoor relaxation areas. It can also function as discreet signage in spaces with low vegetation, where a taller beacon would break the scale of the ensemble. Its diameter of 350 mm and height of 388 mm make it compact without losing presence.

In terms of pairing, it combines well with other concrete or stone elements, with outdoor furniture in dark wood or lacquered metal, and with medium-sized plants that can receive some of the warm light it emits. It does not need a sensor or dimmable control to fulfil its function — its value lies in consistency and form, not in additional technology.

For those looking for rechargeable garden lights or motion sensor lights, this beacon is not that option. It operates connected to the mains, at 220V–240V, which guarantees continuous and stable illumination night after night, without depending on solar charging or motion detection.

The IP68 connector is included with the GAIA beacon. It allows direct connection to the mains without the need for additional parts for the outdoor connection.

Does the LED light source come factory-installed or does it need to be fitted?

The SMD LED light source is included and installed. There is no need to purchase any type of bulb or carry out any prior assembly related to the lighting.

Does the weight of the cement body affect installation on the ground?

The net weight of the piece is 13.9 kg. This means that once placed on the ground, the lamp has natural stability. Even so, it is advisable to plan the location carefully before installing it, as moving it afterwards requires effort.
