Overview

BLUB'S is an outdoor lamp by the brand FARO, designed to illuminate entrances, facades, garden walls and outdoor passageways. Its wall-mounted format makes it a straightforward and effective option: it is fixed to a vertical surface and projects light where it is needed, without taking up floor space or requiring additional structures. With 61 centimetres in height, it covers the illuminated area well without being excessive.

The aluminium body in a dark grey finish gives it a solid and contemporary look, fitting both in modern outdoor settings and more understated environments. The opal PMMA diffuser distributes light softly, without bright spots or harsh shadows. It is a lamp that does not distract, but simply does its job well.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in home and outdoor lighting. Its products combine durable materials with clean design, intended for residential installations that seek quality without complications.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor lamp correctly, it is important to fix it to a solid vertical surface, such as a brick or concrete wall or similar. Before starting, cut the power supply at the distribution panel. Check that the existing wiring is compatible with the indicated voltage and that the connectors are in good condition. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is recommended that an electrician carry out the work. The wall fixing must be firm, without movement, to avoid vibrations or water infiltration at the anchor points.

To clean the aluminium body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned with water and neutral soap. Do not use hard objects on its surface to avoid scratching it. Periodically check the fixing points to make sure they remain tightly secured, especially if the area is exposed to wind or temperature changes.

Design and use

The BLUB'S lamp by FARO is an outdoor wall-mounted fixture that combines robust construction with a discreet visual profile. Its body, made of aluminium, withstands the conditions typical of outdoor use well: temperature changes, ambient humidity and continuous exposure to the elements. The dark grey finish gives it a neutral character that does not compete with the surrounding architecture, but integrates into it naturally.

The PMMA diffuser in an opal finish is one of the most important elements of this luminaire. This material filters light uniformly, preventing direct glare and producing pleasant illumination for outdoor passageways and living areas. There are no uncomfortable reflections or areas with excessively concentrated light. The light is distributed evenly, which is especially useful at garage entrances, outdoor corridors, gardens and access points to homes.

With a height of 540 mm and a length and depth of 260 mm, the fixture has a sufficient presence to fulfil its function well without appearing disproportionate. Its weight of 1.67 kg makes handling during installation easier, although wall mounting requires the appropriate anchors to ensure long-term stability.

The light source is of the E27 LED type, a standard socket that allows the use of any LED bulb on the market with that fitting. This gives the freedom to choose the exact colour temperature and wattage within the 15 W limit. The product does not include a bulb, so upon receiving it you can already have the one that best suits your intended use ready to go.

As for where it fits best, this lamp is a good option for illuminating the exterior of detached houses, both at the main entrance and at side accesses or garden areas with a wall. It also works well on enclosed or semi-covered terraces, building entryways or outdoor corridors. In gardens with vertical architectural elements, a fixture of this type can define the space at night in a very clean way.

The dark grey aluminium pairs well with stone facades, exposed concrete, treated wood or cladding in neutral tones. It is not a lamp that draws attention on its own, but it does contribute to the exterior having a neat and coherent appearance when night falls. If the access to your home has scarce or poorly distributed lighting, a piece like this can considerably change the perception of the space.

Questions and answers

Does the 61 cm BLUB'S lamp include an E27 bulb?

No, the bulb is not included. The lamp uses a standard E27 socket compatible with any LED bulb of that type available on the market, with a maximum power of 15 W.

Does the aluminium body with a dark grey finish hold up well to continuous outdoor use?

Aluminium is a material designed to withstand outdoor conditions: it handles ambient humidity and temperature changes well. The dark grey finish is applied to the body to maintain its appearance over time, although periodic cleaning with a dry cloth helps to keep it in good condition.

Can this fixture be used with an external motion sensor?

The lamp itself does not incorporate a motion sensor, but since it is a luminaire with a standard E27 socket and mains connection, it is compatible with external detection systems installed in the electrical circuit. Consult an electrician to integrate it with a sensor appropriate for your installation.
